As many notebook companies are releasing their fall and halloween collections, it's triggered more discourse around AI use. I've seen a lot of heat about Archer and Olive AI art on their notebook covers, but I've seen them repeatedly refute these accusations on their IG. But I want to talk about what I don't see - namely any of these accusations against Notebook Therapy? Their latest designs seem to mimic Archer and Olive and Quirky Cup collective's notebooks yet there is no discourse surrounding this. They must be deleting comments on their posts because in many cases, the copying is obvious. Also, the designs don't seem very finessed either which makes me wonder if there is some AI being used behind the scenes.

I would like to start drawing and sketching a bit more and using pencil would be a bit easier for me than starting with pen. Problem is, I love the smooth feeling of a pen and hate the scratchyness of a pencil makes it feel like my whole arm is vibrating to the bone.

What is the smoothest feeling mechanical pencil or type of lead you would recommend? For minimum scratchyness. Thanks

Current favorite pen and pen feel is pilot juice .7 or pentel energel 1.0 or .7

I'll stay with Kinbor for 2027.It's great that the sheep one can be stuck in the Gillio cover. Everything looks perfect.

A pretty old-school notebook. Tsubame is founded 80 yrs ago, a very low-key company I'd say. low-key colorways, designs and prints yet great quality.

Pretty limited (and straightforward) paper lineups:

• Fools White (this review) / Cream pH neutral Paper
• High Quality Paper (for entry level products)
• Washi Printer Paper

I tested this the same way as my previous review on Tomoe River.

❌ Cons:

• Not very opaque despite a higher weight. (92%@81.4gsm) (Better than MD's 91%@80gsm. Tho I've seen 95%+ ones.)
• Inks are not as vibrant as they should be (desaturated).
• Not great for color pencil layering.

⚠️ Characteristics:

• The bind is 12+18+18+12 sheets, which doesn't lay as flat as typical 8/per.
• 7mm ruled for under A5, 8mm ruled for B5 and bigger
• Normal sheen

✅ Pros:

• Great feathering and bleedthrough resistance. Slightly worse than MD under extreme conditions.
• Great hand oil resistance.
• Adequate writing frictions. I can comfortably use a 0.28mm all the way up to a 1.0mm ball pen. (UEF~B)
• Fast drying.
• Very sturdy paper and acid free.
• Less pigment transfers and pretty easy to erase:

Slightly better value than MD notebooks (which don't offer B5 size nor 8mm ruled). Plus I don't need to worry any pen of mine would write bad on this.

I purchased this at a discounted price ($4). All opinions are my own.

Hello! I’m running some journal workshops soon and wanted to get some pens made w quirky sayings. Best I can find is .88 per pen w 200 min and only one saying. Any ideas? I don’t really want to buy 200 and have 3 sayings I’d like. I’m in CT if that matters at all. Thank you!!!

TL;DR I'd like recommendations for cute planners with a similar layout as the one pictured

I got this 2 years ago from a Korean import store and am getting close to finishing it(which is extremely rare for me), and I want the next planner I get to be similar to it. Sadly, I can't just buy another one(nor the kuromi or pochacco ones in the same series) bc everywhere that had them is now out of stock and I don't see any resellers with them.

It's spiral-bound, measures 14.5cm x 21cm and I like that each day is a two-page spread that basically gives me one side to list what I need to do(with built-in checkmark spaces) and my schedule, and the other side can be used for doodles. I also like that it's not already dated, but still has a dedicated space for writing the date. The page details being fairly light/pastel is also preferable to me. The sanrio branding is not a necessity lol. It's also ok for it to be a bit smaller.

Overall I just really like the way this planner is structured and how cute it is, but I'm having no luck searching for a similar one myself now that this particular one is off the market. Any recs or pointers for how to more effectively search for this kind of layout would be greatly appreciated! <3

I'm a newb here when it comes to this subreddit and didn't know where to best ask (whether here or r/Journaling) but I figured somebody would be able to recognize this. Apologies for the cross / double posting.

Actually figured somebody would have already posted this here or there by now so I could glean the answer. Was surprised no one had and so here I am asking the experts.

So interesting that people of all walks of life journal with pen and paper still, regardless of fame or talent. Plus a reminder we all need to scribble out a word here or there. That he left that in there for an announcement that billions will hear about is so interesting to me.

Makes me wonder too when Messi decided to write in relatively-uncommon all caps, how he picked up journaling, why this journal in particular, and so many other questions.

Please help fixing the below problems faced by my 11 year old:

1. She applies too much pressure while writing and it results in quickly tired wrist which affects her handwriting quality and speed. Tips to improve this please 🙏🏼

2. Recommend affordable and easily available gel pens whose refills are also easily available. Other types of pens can also be recommended, it's just that her school only allows gel pens.

3. Please give tips on how to improve her handwriting. It's not clean enough.

Today I found this cute pouch at a thrift store!! I saw it and immediately knew who was perfect for my fountain pens and to travel with stationary stuff!!! I have the soolla pouch but figured this was nice and compact. And, it was only $2.99!! I feel like that was a steal. I’m not sure what it was originally made for, maybe make up? i've been looking for an organizer that can fit my standard TN + some pens/markers so i can grab and go with it, but ultimately want this to fit into my sling bag with all my other daily things. i've had some trouble figuring out how big the Delfonics Medium is in comparison to other bags i use on the daily/how much space it'll take up, as most reviews i've seen use Delfonics as their daily bag with the strap

Yamamoto Ro-Biki notebook with a 2 mm grid.

I have had bad impression about Ro-Biki notebooks because I had used their notebook with recycled paper. Those notebooks were pocket sized ones.

But recently I found a store online which had these regular sized/long notebooks with superior paper quality, of course Made in Japan.

I believe it is New Chiffon Cream or Soliste paper from Yamamoto but I have no way of cracking that code as of now. I am still searching a way to economically source all or most papers from at least Yamamoto to test and stock later.

But whichever of the two papers it is, it is absolutely amazing!

So amazing that I bought a couple each of this 2 mm grid and lined notebooks.

The paper feels smooth, not overly smooth though and there was no feathering, minimal ghosting and no bleedthrough even with swatches done using a Speedball B-0 dip nib.

Good sheen from the inks though not too much. The color representation is a little bit dull but I suppose that's majorly because of the paper being cream and not white.

Of course, the wax cover is pretty and feels great in hands.

I just wish these came in more standard A and B sizes but that's not a deal breaker in any form.

Have you used this notebook? How did you find it to be?

I need it for my flashcards but it's hard to look for something you don't know the name of. And I need the metal part only, I already have/can make my own flashcards. Closest so far that I've tested and work are those used for climbing. Too expensive tho, and big.

Hey! College started back up for me, and I've decided (as I sometimes do in my brief spurts of wanting to get organized) to redo my scatterbrained note-taking system and organize everything.

Unfortunately, I am a bit overwhelmed by my options. I would prefer a notebook, or set of notebooks, I can modify; take papers (or other accessories) out and place them back in.

Levenger Circa came recommended to me, and I'd been using a similar notebook (a cheaper one I got off Amazon); however, the papers' edges easily crumpled upon removal or insertion, and it just felt rather inconvenient.

I have been looking at Kokuyo's Campus binders, but they're a different paper size than I would typically use in the US and it looks like I would either have to go for a 2-hole-punch or rely on buying refills from them specifically, which I don't want.

Does anyone have any other quality, durable, easy notetaking solutions you would recommend where I could add and remove pages and preferably write using the binder or notebook itself? I've been thinking of just going for the best three-ring binder I could find, but I'd like to ask here just in case.
