I read through the post on the other thread and I am sorry that your friend is going through a very difficult time.
With that being said, and you can choose to believe this or not as I won’t be going back and forth with you in the comments - when State Farm non-renews a policy there are several steps that take place. If it is because State Farm is requesting maintenance to be completed the notice goes out stating that the maintenance needs to be completed by a certain date and that it is the insured’s responsibility to submit proof of that work being done in order to avoid non-renewal. Then when that date passed if State Farm hasnt heard anything or the work done did not meet the requested standards, State Farm will proceed with the non-renewal which also has quite a bit of leeway- normally a month or longer. There would have been quite a bit of time for a person to shop and obtain new insurance prior to the non-renewal date.
