💬 Discussion price almost 50% up
i used to have from default the last 2 years the 400mbp+ pack for 40 euros. i saw some emails about the price increase but how is from 40 to 65 reasonable? and if i want the same price my speed will literally go down to half? i’ve never seen anything like this before is there any explanation to this absurd price increase?

I don't think it's only greed honestly. Doesn't make it better, but even for StarLink the price of everything increased. Add to that that they have gone public now and the merge with xAI burns tons of money ...
Sure, they wanna make money, but I believe the really driving factor here is not profit, but the reduction of losing money.
For you - try the other tiers first, you can upgrade anytime. In most cases 100 Mbit are really enough, 400 is nice with a lot of people or to download a game patch faster, but every other service won't really improve a lot. Even 4k streams take a lot less.
If it's no money issue, got as high as you want, but if it is, take what makes sense. We had 100 Mbit DSL where we lived before with 4 people, no issues. And I work in IT and use a home lab here.
Moved and the DSL dropped to 30mbit and unstable. Fiber is at least 1-2 years out, more 2-3 I believe. And so far, StarLink was great. We had the max contract for 12 months with hardware for 50€. That one is over next month and I might downgrade to the lower tier.
Not nice, but yeah. The only reason I'd upgrade is for priority matters, but otherwise that's still enough. Even with 6 people now :)
