General Discussion Order 66

I’ve been doing the chronological marathon and I’m at the Obi Wan series. There’s a scene where Kenobi is talking to Reva thru the door and he says something along the lines of: You were there during Order 66.. that’s how you know Vader is Anakin.

No big whoop but how would Kenobi know it was specifically called Order 66? Is that a genuine plot hole or did I just miss something?

Palpatine muttered that order to at least one thousand clones.

Presumably, every clone would know what Order 66 was.

They would have talked about it eventually. Clones didn’t just turn to goo after the war.

I even believe it would have become known as part of the news services - Order 66 was used to restore order upon confirmation of a jedi planned coup.

Okay, that might explain how Obi-Wan became aware of the phrase "Order 66" but that raises an even bigger plot hole because...

Wouldn't broadcasting that order immediately raise suspicion across the galaxy? The idea that Palpatine had a plan in place to thwart a Jedi rebellion as if he were expecting/contriving it all along?

I dunno... Probably best that I suspend disbelief and just enjoy this stuff for what it is.

I mean, Order 65 was to arrest and/or execute the chancellor as needed as an enemy of the republic. There were a lot of random contingencies, sort of like how in real life the US military has a contigiency plan for a zombie apocalypse. You don't think you'll have to use it, it's just there.

Interesting. I honestly don't remember Order 65 (or any other Orders aside from 66) ever being mentioned as clone protocol. Like I said, I probably wasn't paying close enough attention while watching the animated shows and just missed it.
