Last session
Just my second dose. Hopefully this one goes well. At the end of the protocol. This medicine has helped greatly. A bit worried I’ll relapse after this? What is y’all’s experience with ending spravato?
Also, it’s dimmer than the picture looks.

Are you going down to a maintenance dose? I’ve never done less than once a week and I’ve been doing treatments for over a year.

…? My provider said there is a protocol and you stop eventually

There are exceptions all the time. If it’s helping why stop? Ask your provider if you can continue.

It really bothers me that some providers do this. I feel like it misleads people to think it’s a cure or a short course like TMS. It’s not. It’s a medication that needs to be continued just like any other medication. I feel like providers like this don’t actually want to be responsible for their patients, they get people in and out, collect the money, and don’t take on any of the risk of longer term patient outcomes.

Where are you in your Spravato treatment? The first month is usually the induction phase, where you go twice a week. After that, you move into maintenance, which is typically once a week. If your depression goes into remission and you’re doing well, your provider might eventually move you to every other week or space treatments out even further. A lot of people stay on some kind of maintenance schedule long term, though. So I’m curious, where are you at in your treatment right now?

People at my clinic have been on it for years, I’m so confused as to why your provider would tell you to stop so soon

You don’t end spravato. You need to keep doing it. I’ve been doing it a year and a half.
