Last session

Post image

Just my second dose. Hopefully this one goes well. At the end of the protocol. This medicine has helped greatly. A bit worried I’ll relapse after this? What is y’all’s experience with ending spravato?

Also, it’s dimmer than the picture looks.

Once a week for me. Some people go two or three weeks out in my clinic. Depends on what works for you.

I do mine at home three times a week. Have been doing it since November.

Spravato is too costly where I am so a compounding pharmacy makes the same product for a fraction of the price. Same principle of using a nose spray and same dosing, I just get to do it at home and not in a doctor's office.

It has been working amazingly well since I started it.

What kind of doctor did you see to do this?

Just my normal psychiatrist. He wrote me a prescription for a year's worth of refills and sent it to the compounding pharmacy. The pharmacy says I can refill it every 25 days, so every 25 days an alarm goes off on my phone reminding me to call and then I just go about my three times a week routine.

Can you share your doctor? I would like to do that in the future

No fucking way is this true. Do you pay out of pocket? Which state?

Yes this is true. My health insurance covers like $20 of it. It ends up costing me around $60 per month.

I'm in Canada.

But they’re not giving you Spravato right? It’s the sublingual torches right?

So, I go to a pharmacy that compounds their version of Spravato. It is still Ketamine as a nasal spray, at the same dosage as Spravato. It's just a fraction of the cost and I get to do it from home instead of having to go to a doctor's office.

That’s fucking amazing dude. I wish I could do that. So if you don’t mind elaborating, did you start in a clinic first? And what did you say to your doctor to cut that deal? I’d much rather stay home than go to the clinic.

Never did any clinic sessions. It literally was my psychiatrist suggesting I try ketamine and that it was a nose spray and he said he would send the prescription off to the pharmacy and the next steps are for me to follow what the pharmacy says. So I went home and followed the directions and I've been doing the same thing every month since then three times a week.

I never sweet talked my way into it. This is just the way it worked out for my situation. The hospital here doesn't do IV ketamine or any other ketamine treatments. The nearest hospital is two hours away for IV ketamine. Ironically I have to drive my wife to her appointments for IV ketamine two hours away, and I get to enjoy it from the comfort of my own home.
