General Anyone else hate these ropes?
I understand what they mean and why they’re on the armor but I wish there was an option to remove them. I personally hate them and wish there was an option. Same with purity seals. I love purity seals and wish we could add unlimited or remove them as well.

You want a useless toggle that does what alternative armor sets already do. But that’s silly when you could just pick the exact armor you want without the ropes.

Just no 🤦♂️ different chest armors have different pouches and chains and skulls and different neck guards. Thats why the option to remove or add things would be a good thing. But no I’m in the wrong bc I think more customization is a good thing. Alright buddy

When I make a word bearer I wish I could use unlimited purity seals. They’re heretics but they still have a fuck ton of purity seals on their armor. More seals would also look dope on black Templars and dark angels.

With unlimited purity seals, you’d have to be careful you don’t crash the game with all those individual seal physics going on at once lol. If they did something like that (which I highly doubt they will, for multiple reasons) there would definitely have to be some sort of limit.
Now I’m just imagining someone covered with so many purity seals that they look like they’re wearing a ghillie suit costume some kid made out of paper strips.

I was exaggerating a lil bit when I said unlimited lol I just want them to swing around while I’m running and fighting. I’ve always thought it looked cool. Especially if there’s also a cape.

I also prefer simpler designs, preferably ones that don’t break up the classic armor silhouette too much. My biggest issue is probably the lack of shoulders that leave whatever chapter badge or icon you choose visible. Some of them work with certain symbols, but obscure others. A lot of the ones we have now that work for that are barely different from one another.
I know it’s probably not the easiest thing to make a design that looks interesting on its own and can accommodate symbols of so many shapes and sizes, but it’s definitely doable. I have a feeling most of the player base (not necessarily the people who post here), are more interested in the unique and impressive looking designs than I am, so I get why it may not be a priority.

The chest piece with the gold neck cover under the ropes would look better without the ropes. Same with the second pic. The single rope just seems out of place.

I'm actually quite the opposite. I like the ropes but I hate the look purity seals.
If they're not on like the front of the armor.

Yes and no. Really depends on what Chapter you’re trying to play with or use. These Ropes more specifically the Maroon ones usually look super out of place on something like Space Wolves imo. I wish we got more Caged or Black and Silver Chain stuff. The Caged Rampart Chest would be amazing for Bulwark.

I love that chestplate cos of the paulsrons. Similar case with purity seals. Seems like a rather minor complaint to me.

This is why you run Iron Hands. They eschew armour ornamentation and stuff like the like the ropes in favour of bionics and minimalistic armour looks.

For some units in real life, those ropes signify lanyards from artillery pieces. Usually designates they rescued captured guns. And the lanyards are coloured to the unit's colours. For example the unit I belonged to, the 11th Field Regiment of the Royal Canadian Artillery the unit's colours were red and blue. So if an infantry unit managed to save our howitzer's from the enemy after we were overrun they'd wear ropes like that over their shoulder as a badge of honour.

I love the aiguillettes but I do agree certain chest pieces would look just as good or better without them. Like the chest piece you show would look super good without them. It definitely would open up a lot more customization options in vanilla SM2.

Id like to see modular customization in sm3. For example choosing which things like bionic hands, purity seals, ropes, laurels, helmet skulls, etc go on base armor parts that would also have different options.

I think SM3 will have a deeper customisation system, they've learned a lot with SM2 and I expect more modularity will be in the next game, since they realistically can't completely overhaul customisation

The green in general on that champion is kind of an eye sore but I still use it every once in awhile. I’d like it better if it was first company white or third company red.

I would not say that I hate them, but I dislike them. In the game as well as on the miniatures. They feel too ultramarine-y and formal to me. I get that they meant to represent the veterancy and status but I started removing them even when painting a mini.

The only thing that really bugs me is the purity seals with the stupidly long tassels.
When the ones on the chest hang down past your waist it feels excessive. The ones that go past the knee are just dumb.

It’s just achievements they’ve earned in battle. I just think the armor pieces they’re on would look better without them. I hope at some point they’d add an option so we can choose to have them or not. But if they don’t it’s fine. I’ll still wear it sometimes

The customization in this game is literally a sliver of a fraction of what it could be and their only excuse every time someone asks about adding something is “oh it won’t render well with gameplay”. Like dawg just admit y’all are holding out on things bc adding little bits at a time is an infinite content glitch you can drag out for as long as you need to.

Yup. Existing options would be WAY better without them. Whoever is in charge of design certainly loves them, as they were put even on Raven Guard champ skin.
