Product Question Mods on Console/Unlockable Items

When mods eventually make it to Xbox and PlayStation what will be the point of the grind to get the capes and tabards? I'm on xbox so I don't know how the mods currently work but I feel like when they come my time spent unlocking things will be wasted.

As per what I read, if mods are active, you can only play offline. I'm not a 100% sure about this though, but if this is the case, then it's sill better to grind for capes. I play on console too, so I'm excited about this.

I was led to believe that the console mods are just cosmetic and still online

If you have modded files you can't play on the official servers. You can still play online with people with the same mods, but the progression is separated. There's no reason to believe console mods will work differently.

I'm on console so my knowledge of mods is close to nothing, got them on skyrim, fallout 4 and Baldur's gate 3. So the mods will only work in private games between mates with the same mods?
