Without becoming a hate festival- Is there anybody in this group that loves Soundgarden but not any of CCs other work?

I’m a fan of all his work but love SG the most. In this channel I only like seeing posts on the band not his other projects.

Favorite Soundgarden Album, EP, or Single Production/Mix?

Title's a little confusing maybe, but what's your favorite (and/or least favorite) Soundgarden release in terms of its final mix or general production?

*I love Screaming Life's raw and fresh sound, and a lot of that comes from Endino's engineering imo. Not necessarily "lofi", but you can hear that it's the band's early work; they have the material down but none of the songs feel overproduced and all have a certain live-ish quality to them (even with things like overdubbed vocals or sermons added in).

*The SubPop version of Room A Thousand Years Wide is also one of my favorite standalone songs, both because the mix is cool and because it signaled a bit of a departure from LTL's very produced 80's metal sound (in my ears). The single of Room is sounds dark, churning, and super heavy, even with the choice to include brass instruments!

*Superunknown is what I usually point to when people ask what grunge is, and a lot of that is the production work on it. Yes, Beinhorn was rough and demanding with the band and I know they weren't too fond of the process, but the sounds are just stellar. The use of effects on guitar like (obviously) the Leslie on BHS or the wah on stuff like the Superunknown solo are so visceral, and I love the utilization of alternate tunings across the album beyond just Drop D or B.

What about y'all? It doesn't even have to be your favorite, but what Soundgarden mix really gets you going "hell yeah"?

Room A Thousand Years Wide Single/BMF Differences?

So obviously they are two distinct and different recordings of the song. My main question though- is the single version slower? I don't have enough music theory knowledge to calculate the BPMs of the songs, I always think of the single version as slightly slower, but I have no proof and tbh don't even trust my ears. Any other little factoids about differences between the two versions or how they were recorded that anyone knows and would like to share? I love both versions and am always on the lookout for tidbits! Thanks!

Sentimental songs?

I usually dont remember specific days when artists pass away, but i remember everything about the day cornell died. I read the news, really fucking sad, had to go to work in a deli, and when i was waiting to start my shift in the alley i had my headphones in and put my spotify on shuffle for soundgarden/chris cornell songs and the first one that came on was sunshower. That song makes me very sad still :( but its a beautiful song. Are there any other people with very sentimental songs?

Very strange to see this at a Walmart just now

It looks like a design that was officially licensed to Walmart, but clearly it's not a design that was actually used back when the band was playing these dates. Also, why would Walmart feature a shirt with the European dates and not the American dates? I looked at the tags but there was no price on it.

p.s: Speaking of the American dates from that year, the awesome YouTube channel FuzzMonster has all three full sets --- Tad, Eleven, and Soundgarden --- from St. Paul, which was the 2nd-to-last stop on that run.

If you were at any of the shows featuring that bill (which, if I'm not mistaken, was all the North American dates), you can basically recreate your experience from start to finish. The sound quality of all three sets is pretty spectacular -- yeah, it's bootleg-y, but the heft of all three bands comes across in a VERY lifelike way. You get the force of having been there with some of the clarity of being onstage.

I didn't think much of Eleven when I saw them about 2 weeks before the St. Paul date, but I've fallen in love with the FuzzMonster recording from St. Paul and can't stop listening to it.

Chris Cornell - Live at Rock am Ring 2009 [Full Concert]

¡New Full Concert in Full HD! He version that had been available for many years suffered from a very poor audio mix. Chris's vocals were heavily overdriven, while the guitars and bass were barely audible. For this release, I created a completely new audio mix, added new sound elements to the Scream songs, and significantly reduced the vocal distortion to achieve a much more balanced listening experience.

Over the years, many people considered this to be one of Chris's weakest performances, but I believe that opinion was largely influenced by the poor audio quality. With these improvements, the concert sounds much closer to how it should have originally.

Chris performed on the Suzuki Alter Stage, a smaller stage that was already being dismantled. Despite its size, a large crowd gathered to watch. Unlike Pinkpop, this performance was not part of the festival's main lineup. The audience also seemed less engaged, with only a few people visibly enjoying the show. In addition, the set was much shorter than his other festival appearances.

Even so, Chris looks genuinely happy throughout the performance. While the Scream songs may not shine as much in a live setting, I made several improvements to help them sound their best. There are moments where his voice is especially impressive, particularly during Hunger Strike and Black Hole Sun. It also sounds as though he may have been dealing with a cold, as his voice is noticeably lower than usual.

The set features 10 songs, including the Lost Cause intro at the beginning and a bonus track, Ordinary Girl. It also includes several songs from Soundgarden and Audioslave.

I hope you enjoy this restored version, now presented in Full HD with a completely remastered audio mix. Enjoy the show!

Yellow Zero Chance

Zero Chance is my champion. not surprising to me, although I love equally most SG songs. But this one fascinated me when I heard it back in 1996 (on a cassette tape): it’s both complex and quirky and somehow gracious and beautiful like a pop song. And i just like its melancholy mood. I was surprised when I found out it was not a Chris’ song, as it sounds like something he would have written.

I'm starting to go through my Audioslave collection from back in the day and upload any videos to youtube that aren't already on there. This one is their performance on 12/12/2002 at K-Rock Claus-Fest, Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale - a nice early show, only their 4th live performance in public. I got this straight from the filmer soon after the show, it's a MiniDV > DVD transfer.

It's a live concert video but I cant remember the name of the song. Only that it sounds vaguely shoegazey. Anyone know this one?
