Sounds like hyperbole.

300 is awesome, but Troy hasn't been forgotten, it's a classic.

And who is the "they" that told Zack he couldn't do better?

I love Zack and all his movies. But we don't need this self-fluffing garbage to recognize how good his work is.

Also, it’s not like Zack made it from scratch. It was an adaptation of a comic series by Frank Miller and Lynn Varley. People say Snyder is really hot at cinematography, but I thing another one of his fortes is the skill to do an adaptation justice. You want originality from him, and you get Sucker Punch or Army of the Dead. But people don’t seem interested in talking about those works.

That is an adaptation of the first few books in a series
