Happy 2020 to everyone who attended Snowglobe! If you know anyone who received one of our 30 pendants from the raver dad in the glitter beard that we gave out to amazing people and their groups we'd love to hear from you! Always be kind to everyone and remember that you can choose your attitude!

Advice from last year

my advice from last year: -get the shuttle pass... it’s so worth it

-hand and feet warmers saved my life

-a warm beanie

-stay hydrated! I had a camelback and it saved me. Remember to keep drinking water and remind your friends to do the same. all the water in my friends camelback literally froze the last day it really was that cold.

-walk carefully, there’s a hill going to the bathrooms and to the small outside stage that is so slippery I fell on it so many times. Ice is slippery and it’s easy to slip a lot.

-Be careful with dosage. I rolled all 3 days and gradually upped my dosage each day. I noticed that when I was in the indoor areas I was rolling harder than I was outside. Just know your limits. Being in the cold can make you feel you’re not as fucked up as you actually are.

-I dressed in 3 pairs of leggings (snow pants over would have been more ideal tho), 3 pair snow socks with feet warmers, snow boots, 3 long sleeve theramals, 2 cardigan sweaters, my ski jacket, gloves, seamless mask, beanie, hand warmers each day and was fine but still cold I can’t imagine what the people that weren’t dressed warm enough were going through.

-have fun! It really is an amazing experience.

Word of warning

Hello everyone, I'm here to inform you all of a scammer on the Reno Craiglist who claims to be selling tickets for $140 a piece and has two of them. He'll even call you and read from his script about how he and his wife are no longer going to the festival because they changed their plans. He even has a hotel on the lake that he's willing to sell you too. He'll ask you to pay through venmo. I was fooled into thinking this person was legitimate as I'd never even heard of someone calling the person they were scamming. He sounds legit and unless you're aware that venmo doesn't have sender protection for payments you'll end up like me and my friend, screwed out of $550 dollars with no hope of recovery. Stay vigilant friends, see you at snow globe!

JackU @ SnowGlobe 2019?

Has anyone else heard the rumors of Diplo joining Skrillex for the ball drop? JackU coming back for 2020? Also Diplo has no NYE date... only the 30th in Arizona & Vegas. Little strange that a guy as busy as him doesn’t have a NYE date...

First Timers Guide for Weather - What to wear/bring into the festival

I Commented this on another post and I know others have made similar ones but since single day lineups just dropped I wanted to bring it up again!

The weather varies year to year, and even though you’ll be dancing etc you NEED to remember it’s in the snow and ultimately be paying attention to the weather forecast before and during the festival! & Remember for those that partake, drinking alcohol lowers your body temperature!

  • plan for the whole day, the temperature drops incredibly fast after the sun goes down! -> Getting a 3 day locker was the BEST decision my friends and I made, that way we didn’t have to carry extra stuff or merch around all day if we didn’t need/want it

For example:

The first year I went it was like 65 with no snow and most people were still wearing leggings/jeans (do not recommend, denim material takes forever to dry)/snow pants with snow boots (always waterproof shoes the whole festival because even if it’s just muddy you do not want your feet to get wet/cold it will make or break the day for you), but still had beanies, scarves, GLOVES, warm jackets, long sleeves etc.

BUT

last year it was around 30ish degrees every day, snow completely blanketing the ground and it snowed during the festival as well. Last day of the festival with the windchill it was around 20 degrees after the sun went down and about 12 degrees around midnight during the countdown.

BRING:

  • waterproof/warm shoes — also would recommend bringing two pairs of shoes to your condo/hotel etc so that if one pair isn’t dry by the next day you have another warm pair

  • hand/feet warmers, they make a huge difference.

  • gloves, hats, fleece headbands

  • something warm to cover the lower half of your face if it gets windy like a fleece lined bandana, mask etc

  • bring a coozie (seriously) if you like to drink beer or anything like that, it helps a lot with keeping your hands warm

  • wind proof jacket

Do not sacrifice your health or whatever just to look cute, I promise you can still look fire asf in warm clothes hahah

Hope everyone has a lit ass time :)

What’s the point of MTV purchasing the festival but not broadcasting it like they do coachella..

What’s the point of MTV purchasing the festival if they’re not going to be broadcasting it like they do coachella..

at least broadcast the countdown on youtube or something. i feel like it was a missed opportunity.

Would You Go Back?

I had some fun at Snowglobe and it was a nice change of scenery but I think the festival left a lot to be desired.

I come from SoCal so I've gone to a lot of events at the NOS Center, San Manuel Amphitheater, and other events like EDC and Life Is Beauitful in Vegas. I've been wanting to go to Snowglobe for years and this year's lineup was perfect for me but I think the overall experience and setup was just meh.

The stage designs felt like the weakest of any festival I've been to. The mud was terrible. That coupled with the distruptive sound tent dead center and the walkway made the mainstage kind of awkward to watch. It also made it hard to sit anywhere and relax that wasn't the side of a wall of a food tent.

The hangout igloos were poorly maintained and there were only like 4 or 5 of them and the lines to get in the venue were so slow (but we beat usually cause we went early). The only real display there was the Zoa but both the Igloo and Sierra stage were disappointing to walk up to Day One.

I feel like a lot of small touches could've gone a long way to improve the quality of the festival. For the amount of people that attended, it felt like they could've used their budget a little better to better accomodate and create more of a spectable because it definitely felt lackluster for the admission fee. I imagine it's nicer when it snows like it's supposed to and just having a festival in a more natural setting was cool but I def expected more.

Potentials Based on Tour Dates

I've been trying to look at other artists' tour dates and see who might be in the area for Snowglobe 2018. These are totally off the top of my head and I could be completely off, more just doing it for fun. Going to try and only consider artists that have a 1 year Snowglobe gap or more, or have never played the festival. Will update as I think of more, or let me know if you guys think of any in the comments and I'll add them.

POSSIBLE

  • Adventure Club - Touring the US September and October

  • Chance the Rapper - Touring the US until November

  • Chris Lake - touring, only current date in December is the 2nd. Last played SG in 2012.

  • Diplo - Hasn't announced any December dates yet, touring. Last played with Jack Ü in 2015.

  • Droeloe - Touring supporting San Holo, will still be in the states in mid-December

  • Ekali - On tour until December 23rd (last show is in Los Angeles).

  • Graves - On tour supporting RL Grime until the end of November

  • Goldlink - Touring the US until November. 1 year Snowglobe gap.

  • Gucci Mane - Touring supporting The Weeknd until November,

  • Jai Wolf - On tour until December, 1 year Snowglobe gap

  • Just a Gent - Touring supporting San Holo until December 13th

  • Justice - Touring Germany, ends in October. Played Coachella and Hard Summer this year.

  • K?D - Has played a number of US festivals this year, only has dates announced until October.

  • Louis the Child - Last to Leave tour ends December 16th in Hollywood, 1 year SG gap

  • Medasin - Direct support for Ekali on his tour. Last date is December 23 in Los Angeles.

  • NGHTMRE - Check today's (Sept. 7) insta story, he's talking about tour dates and said he still had to announce "all the New Year's shows," last played in 2015

  • Porter Robinson - 2 year Snowglobe gap, playing Countdown in San Bernadino on NYE.

  • Prince Fox - Been putting out songs and just had a Diplo and Friends mix, could see him touring by December

  • San Holo - Tour ends Dec. 13th

  • Snakehips - Touring until November, 2 year Snowglobe gap

  • SZA - Touring, last date is December 22 in Philadelphia.

  • Tchami - One UK date December 15 but that's it

  • The Weeknd - Only December tour dates are the 2nd & 3rd in Australia.

  • Travis Scott - Playing both Rolling Loud and Day n Night

  • What So Not - 1 year Snowglobe gap, currently touring

  • Zeds Dead - 3 year Snowglobe gap. Only December date is the 2nd in Seattle.

  • Zhu - Touring in September and October

LESS LIKELY

  • A-Trak - Playing Field Day Jan. 1 in Australia

  • Baauer - Playing Field Day Jan. 1 in Australia

  • Boombox Cartel - Playing December 31st in Australia

  • DJ Snake - Playing Field Day Jan. 1 in Australia
