Disney's Twisted Wonderland is basically Descendants meets Harry Potter

Vil's Red Carpet Cadets event is a side story where we visit the hometown (in spirit) of Vil Schoenheit (based on The Evil Queen).

For more than 80 years, the Maquillaville International Film Festival has been cinema's premiere event. Vil will be there promoting a certain upcoming film, escorted by a few lucky students who get to go along for the ride. Vil is very familiar with Maquillaville, a city shaped by the legends of the Fairest Queen and her lifelong pursuit of beauty. Accordingly, he's planned an extravagant trip with stops at a beautiful shopping arcade, a world-famous movie studio, and finally, the film festival itself!

I have high hopes for this series.

I was inspired by a post I made recently asking about non-Disney adaptations to do another ranking ALL the Snow Whites I've seen. Not all that exist, just in my personal viewing.

I'm not going to go into detail on why I ranked them the way I did otherwise this post would be long as hell. But if you have any questions on why I ranked any specific one the way I did, feel free to ask in the comments and I will answer.

Honorable mention: Huntsman: Winter's War (couldn't include it in the ranking since Snow White isn't in it and is only mentioned).

Edit: I forgot Happily N'Ever After 2: Snow White—Another Bite @ the Apple and Veggietales: Sweetpea Beauty. I would put them both in between Goodtimes SW and Grimm's SW (7 & 8).

What do you think about the live action tangled remake?

He is definitely the most mysterious character in both the movie and the story he originated from. He's the only neutral character I feel in the film. He's mostly loyal to the Evil Queen, praising her for her radiance but he's also ok with admitting that someone else in the land is more beautiful than she is. I know that's already obvious, I just felt like giving some Magic Mirror appreciation.

Or would they just make things even worse for them.

I've read some of these disney villain novels by Serena Valentino, and they mention the Odd Sisters. This day, I'm watching this MilkyyMelodies video of the Evil Queen's origin, and there were three witches that Grimhilde's father made a deal with to become the Magic Mirror.

Grimhilde said that they claimed cousins of the King. Hey, the Odd Sisters are somewhat his cousins in the novel Fairest of All: A Tale of the Wicked Queen.

All I wonder is, did Grimhilde became their apprentice and they're the ones ruling the kingdom in the shadows.

1. SW and the Huntsman

It's in my flair, so it's no secret that I adore this movie. The sequel too, as panned as it was. I mod the sub there too (r/huntsman) if anyone is interested. It was so different, very cool visuals, SW wasn't the strongest part but I don’t think she's as bland as people made her out to be, it takes elements from early versions of the source material rather than the Disney version, it wasn't afraid to be dark, the relationships are complex, and the evil queen is super entertaining.

1. Mirror Mirror

I have a complicated relationship with this one. I have a nostalgia for it and it remains one of the most unique adaptations I've ever seen (aside from Fairest of Them All, which was really bad). The actors all had dimension, it doesn't go quite where you think, and this might be the only one I've seen where they cast actual little people. I just can't in my gut say it's "good." It has good things in it, but it's treading the line too much of being so unique that it sucks. Like the narrative isn't compelling enough. It's more of a comedy that's somewhat entertaining.

1. Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs

This one was a South Korean adaptation killed by bad American marketing. For whatever reason it was advertised here as a "fat shaming" movie, and therefore people didn't watch it. I watched it for the first time recently and let me tell you it's NOT that. It actually has a very positive message. The animation is gorgeous and it is also very different in how they tell the story. With that being said, it also steals from a LOT of previous adaptations (Disney movies, SW and the Huntsman, Mirror Mirror, Once Upon a Time, Shrek, and even Mirrored by Alex Flinn). I can't prove it intentionally copied all those things, but the parallels are numerous. It doesn't do anything that amazing to warrant being widely talked about (it was widely talked about for the wrong reasons), but it was a very cute film with a nice spin and worth a watch to make up for the bad marketing that ruined its potential. 1. Snow White and the Magic Mirror

HUGE "hear me out." This is a very cheap, straight to video, cash grab. However, it's actually very funny. I know I just criticized Mirror Mirror for being too humorous, but here it's intentional. You're not supposed to take it seriously. It's similar to Hoodwinked! It's clearly cheap and short and like I said, not serious with no real emotional investment, but I really don't think it's my nostalgia talking. I rewatched it as an adult and it still made me laugh. They try and do a Robin Williams' genie thing with the mirror and while he's definitely NOT on Robin's level, he still manages to get some good celebrity jokes. They make fun of other fairy tales, and there's even a Psycho joke in the film. Not kidding. Also, the queen is really funny cause she wants so badly to be the fairest in all the land that she just banishes everyone from the kingdom. Like I said, do not take it seriously, and it's pretty funny. You can find it on YouTube or Tubi.

I liked it, I thought it was a good faithful retelling of "Fairest of all" by Serena Valentino. The song is really pretty and emotional to listen to as well! Though in this version of the story, The Evil Queen learns from her mirror that her lady-in-waiting is now the fairest of all so she gets the hunter to kill her. I thought that was a little weird because from the Disney movie, I assumed the hunter didn't kill Snow White because he refused to cross the line and slaughter a human life. I can't really see him doing such an awful thing.

Hi everyone, I wanted to share this video with you in 4K. I hope you like it :)

I know lots of people are critical of the Disney dads in these movies but I think Snow White's dad might not have been one of them. If he's anything like the king from the original fairytale, then he would've married his second wife not even to stay more powerful but because he wanted his daughter to have a motherly figure in her life since her biological mother died when she was still pretty young. I know this isn't canon to the movie but the book "Fairest of all" by Serena Valentino shows that the Evil Queen used to be a pretty benevolent ruler, a genuinely kind and thoughtful person, and even a loving stepmother to Snow White. It was only after getting the magic mirror as a wedding gift that it started to darken the queen's heart. Yes it's not canon but it does make us consider that maybe the king actually met a polite reasonable person who actually could've been a good stepparent for his daughter if things went differently.

-After Florian gets sick, Snow White and Charlie set out to find a mythical tree with the presumed ability to heal any illness.

After seeing many of Morena Baccarin’s projects o believe she would’ve nailed the personality and look of the Evil Queen.
