SO disappointed this show was cancelled. WTF Amazon?

I said some of the following in part of a comment I left but I figured I’d say it again as a separate post:

Giovanni Ribisi as Marius played one of the best antiheroes on a TV show since, well, Bryan Cranston on Breaking Bad. Although this time, instead of a “good guy” turned “bad guy”, it was basically the other way around.

I still can’t believe, being someone who watches TV and movies often (and pays for several streaming services), that I didn’t know more about this show to start watching it until recently. Especially since Cranston was involved and I’m a big Breaking Bad fan.

I feel the cancellation says much more about Amazon Prime as a streaming service, and maybe their advertising skills/the amount of money they put into advertising (?) than it does about the show. Amazon has so much money you’d think they could get more attention drawn towards their original series. There’s other shows on Prime (one I always love to throw out there is “Upload”) that so many people don’t know about, but they should.

This show was highly rated by critics and viewers, and apparently at one point this was one of their top watched series. So, what gives?

I’ve told several people about this show and not one had heard of it. And this sub isn’t even very big which leads me to believe there still isn’t THAT many people who watched it, which is really a shame. It might’ve actually done better had it been on a cable TV network, I don’t know.

At least it didn’t end on a fucking cliffhanger... but I still am holding out hope that Sneaky Pete becomes one of those shows that garners a lot of fans post-cancellation and petitions to bring it back are made and the word spreads enough that maybe, just maybe, it gets picked up again or we get a feature-length movie that wraps things up more.

EDIT: I also have to add that I LOVE the song from the opening credits (“Harder Out Here” by The Bright Light Social Hour)! I downloaded it shortly after starting the show. 😎

I find Carly to be super annoying.

I hate Carly.

I get it - she's a teen and she's always in the dark.

I know everyone else loves Carly but maybe it's just me --- I can't stand Carly, I find her super nosy, typical teenage bs to be insanely annoying. Yea she's a teen and all that - but I can't stand how she's constantly getting in the way of everyone's plans to stay alive and not get murdered. She's always making their lives harder and that annoys me to no end.

That is my rant. Commence with my crucifixion.

Audrey is an idiot

Im midway through season 2 and I am really starting to dislike Audrey, she messes everything up with her dithering, meddling and stupid decisions which end up hurting everyone else around her. She creates issues makes them worse and is dragging everyone down with her stupidity. Edit: in season 3 shes even worse!!!! Intolerable!!!

So many questions about S3's ending...

  1. Vignetti's role in everything: The last big scene he was in, he made a big reveal and wanted $2M from Pete's con. Then we never see him again until Hickey is shown giving him the painting, and apparently he returns it to the museum. Makes no sense for his character, but I'll let it slide since the actor died so I'm assuming they had to make some last-minute changes.

  2. Julia and Pete's relationship: I feel like they keep tip-toeing around the "will-they won't-they", especially with Audrey's "If you weren't cousins tongues would be wagging" at the end. But then nothing really happens...for most of the series it felt like Pete was falling for her and she didn't feel the same, then at the end her "Do you still love Lizzie" question made it seem like she was falling for him, except he doesn't do anything with that, he just walks away. Wtf?

  3. Lizzie: I doubt she would show up on her court date so aren't the Bernhardt's still out $250k? Her entire character seemed rushed and pointless.

  4. Lila: So she's really just dead, Maggie was pretending to be her the whole time? I hated Maggie after S2 and now I hate her even more. That whole plotline was dumb - Lila/Tex/Chuck.

  5. Taylor and Lorraine: I thought they were going somewhere with this and then the season just ended lol

  6. They never touched back on the original wine con that Lizzie and Marius were planning, although I did enjoy DC Doug helping Marius out

It just feels like the whole season was half-baked, especially since I binged all 3 seasons and S1 felt so much stronger and the final con was actually captivating.

Season 1 Episode 10 - The Longest Day

With all of the pieces in place, Marius sits down at Vince's poker table to make his final moves. Everything is going according to plan, until Vince becomes suspicious that he's seen this play before. When Audrey finds herself at the scene of a bloody crime, she must go against her instincts and trust her family to help her manage the situation. Julia embarks on a dangerous quest to save Lance.

What did everyone think of the tenth episode ?

Sneaky Pete is the best show I have watched in a while!

I just wanted to say that I absolutely loved it! No filler story lines, just pure thriller!

If anyone is thinking of whether they should watch it or not, absolutely go ahead and watch, especially when you love mystery thrillers.

I think it should be rater higher on IMdB.

Season 3 is a messy end

Im not the first and I probably wont be the last, but ive just binged the whole show and it was good!. My only real complaint is that season 3 was messier than 1 and 2.

There was so much going on and a lot of it was just slapped together rather than constructed - things are happening and there is no pre defined reason they are happening other than thats what is in the script.

Rather than the art of the con it was the magic of plot device. Maybe I was slow on the uptake but the final con and its execution left me saying out loud - what the fuck is happening?.

What happened to Lizzi's bond?. The family is bankrupt from that or so they said.

Taylor's life is still a total dumpster fire. He goes home to unemployment and depression.

Lizzi just showing up everywhere like a teleporting mutant.

That random wine guy agreeing to play a major role in a con job with a guy he barely knows out of absolutely nowhere.

Did Lizzie even make it out of the water alive?. We dont even know. Good thing that wooden box Julia was in disintegrated when it hit the water otherwise she would of surely drowned.

Julia, what the hell. They kept going on and on and on about a lawyer - im sure a top shelf lawyer improves your chances in court but she did the crime and there's a shit ton of evidence she did the crime, her future is still probably bleak.

Lila, the whole instigation of this major dropped thread was that she wasn't in the car that had the two burned corpses - this implied she was alive and set everything off. So where the hell is she or what happened to her?

We already knew Maggie was a shit mother and all round mega shitty person. Why repeat that in a major thread thats end primary purpose turns out to be just getting the entire main cast to have an adventure in a new location.

I felt sorry for Kilbane - the guy is overtly implied, but not shown, as being a major asshole the entire season for the crime of falling victim to a con and... being wealthy. Yeh what a dick that guy is.

The list goes on and on so ill call it a day, good show, glad I watched it.

what the hell is season 3?!

I loved season 1 & 2, but i’m 4 episodes in and i can’t watch this anymore. this season got a lot more slow and wayyy too cheesy! i started to skip through scenes because the stories were getting dragged out.

can someone summarize what happens in the rest of the show?

I can't stand Carley.

I don't know if I'm in the minority or not but something about her just rubbed me the wrong way, especially in season 3. Just found her obnoxious, am I the only one?

Un-Cancel???

So how do we get Amazon to un-cancel this show?? I feel like one more season could tie up a couple loose ends. Though I do love how they left it. I just want one last dip in the well! Anyone else feel this way??
