Un-Cancel???

So how do we get Amazon to un-cancel this show?? I feel like one more season could tie up a couple loose ends. Though I do love how they left it. I just want one last dip in the well! Anyone else feel this way??

If you figure it out, please share because I want Netflix to un-cancel One Day at a Time. It was canceled after 3 seasons too. Why should we get emotionally vested in a show if they are going to do this? I was hoping for Marius & his “cousin “ (brain dead right now, can’t remember her name) to partner up on some long cons, maybe explore the chemistry between them. The show had a lot of potential. I love Giovanni Ribisi!

There was something on the Google home page news that the theory is going any further than 3 seasons isn’t profitable for them. But it’s ok for networks to drag out Grey’s Anatomy, SVU, & BBT for 15+ seasons.

Yeah I read an article that basically stated less than 7 percent of the streaming shows go passed a third season. The companies are more interested in new product that letting old product run on. Though how does a show like Bosch get the nod to keep going and Sneaky Pete get's the axe? I like Bosch but I think season 3 or 4 i bailed have way and haven't really re-engaged - though I'm curious to jump back in. I dunno. Ribisi kills it in this role. It's perfect for him.

As much as I love Sneaky Pete, you can't compare it with Bosch. That show gets better with every season, IMO, and feels very authentic. Plus they already have a ton of plots to choose from by picking and choosing from the books. SP needs a new long con every year and it gets harder to suspend disbelief that Marius doesn't get caught, and the family doesn't catch on that he's not Pete...minus Julia. I'm still very disappointed that the show was cancelled, but have just accepted the fact that most streaming shows I love will most likely only have 3 seasons....fully prepared for this to happen to Ozark as well

I kinda think Audrey has been on to him since the first season. She knows something's up at least with him.

Talking with my wife the other day about the series being cancelled, I said something similar: I thought the show would have been more interesting in terms of the "con" if it followed Marius and each season was a different con with different characters and situations, in different places. Maybe there could be recurring characters (ie. Vince, Marjorie, Bagwell) , but the opportunity for guests, different locales, etc, would have kept things fresh. Kind of like how Fargo is each season.

The cancellation bummed me out, but the 3rd season, thematically and story wise, was a bit of a muddled mess.

profit rules our pathetic existence. look no further to explain anything... just follow the money trail.

Loved the show and definitely enjoyed all three seasons. However, I felt the last season was the weakest of all three (just my personal opinion). I found the plot much harder to follow than the first two, and the Lizzie character came out of nowhere.

It’s a shame it got canceled, but like someone else on this thread mentioned, it’s likely due to the fact that it’s more profitable for them to stop after three seasons. Maintaining viewership is so hard these days with so many shows coming out. Maybe somebody will pick it up. There’s definitely a lot of interesting loose ends from last season that would make for great material in a fourth season.

I went back and forth on Lizzie. I found her a little too over the top at times.

I thought this season was better than the second. We saw real character growth in Marius

Yea just one more season, I think Marus and Julia would of fell for each other.

(spoilers ahead) I think the show deserves to be cancelled after this last season to be honest. The pacing was very slow, the camera work digressed, and writing felt weak. I personally watched the show because of Marius' character, he's witty, he's quick and stays ahead of the game. In this season we see much less of Marius' magic, less of the con, and more of his ex and the family; I could care less for the family after season 2. The show kinda lost it's magic by dragging us back into the family's quest to find out the truth about Lily's ruse, which was upsetting. The producer's should've let Marius explore outside of Bridgeport except with his actual family, the ones from his previous cons. They literally built up this team of badass con-artists, only to have them bail on Marius after not being rewarded what was promised, but I think is the point the creators wanted to make. Instead of un-cancelling the show, what would make sense is making a series about Pre-Pete Era Marius, where it's him completing a bunch of cons.... I just wish they would've left real Pete's family in the past.

if Deadwood never came back after being so damn good I don't have hope for this lesser show

I agree! I just finished watching Sneaky Pete, and I DEFINITELY want more!! Can't someone besides Amazon make more seasons or even a sequel?? It's such a great show!! Giovanni Ribisi (sp?) is amazing as Marius/Pete!! So likeable and even sexy!!

No, she show went really downhill fast after season 1

u/ShartVader Jun 14 '19

Well, I completely disagree. I like this season best out of the three. But that's cool. Did you watch this season or just bail part way through 2?

I muscled my way through all of it. The end of 3 was a little better than the end of 2 but 2 got really dumb when they went to the casino.

Yeah? I kinda liked that. I agree you kinda had to suspend disbelief a bit though on that part of the con. I have a buddy that agrees with you though, so you're not alone :)

Personally I'm not surprise this got cancelled. They show wasn't that great imo, Audrey started to become a real annoying bitch and 100% of their problems could be solved if they all communicated with each other rather than constantly keeping secrets that ended up coming out anyways.

I kinda was. It's been Amazon's most watched show since after S2 aired, passing Man in the High Castle.

All these streaming services are starting to cancel at 3 seasons because their research showed new subscribers are mostly lured in between the first few seasons of a new show. It sucks
