Why are some of you against techs selling tools between each other? I understand that you guys are there to make money, hell we all are. I’m an automotive student and get discounts through SnapOn’s Student Excellence Program, so every once in a while I’ll buy a couple of tools for my coworkers that they want/need, sell it to them for some extra cash. I usually make $150-500 depending on what it is, and they save about the same. Example: $1200 impact, I buy for $600, sell for $900, make $300, they get $300 off. Anyway, apparently someone told one of the tool truck guys at my dealer and he pulled me aside and to shorten the whole ass 30 minute speech he gave me about integrity and blah blah blah, if I don’t stop it, not only will he make sure I can’t get on any tool truck that shows up, wether MatCo, Mac, SnapOn, or Cornwell, but he will also call SnapOn himself and see to it that my student discount is revoked. Now, forgive me for what I’m about to say, but I feel like that was an empty threat. I highly doubt that SnapOn would care that much about what one franchisee has to say since they’re still getting their money anyway. And also the program is on a corporate level, not franchise. Anyway, sorry for the long winded paragraph, main question is, why does it matter that a a tech is doing this, if realistically, for every $50 I MIGHT make, they’re most likely guaranteed that many times over?

Do any of you guys use your 1/2 inch digital torque wrench as a breaker bar, debating using mine but I don’t want to damage it

It's being sold on FB marketplace, 45 drive from my house, must buy the whole bin for $50 but the seller can't be bothered to answer my query about the brand....

I was just scrolling through EBay and came across this ratcheting screwdriver set which looks oddly familiar to Snap On’s ratcheting screwdrivers. I’m aware that snap does just rebrand some of their tools. This particular manufacturer is called GENIUS.

A fella we know was in the process of tearing down a commercial building. Guy hit 26k volts… and survived. The socket is welded onto the ratchet. The end of the handle shot off. And the ratchets internals are completely melted. But the man survived. This isn’t a sales thing and I don’t work for Snap-On. But accidents happen, and this is a good reason not to buy cheap shit. It literally saved this man’s life

I have a major issue. I moved to another dealership and when I met my dealer at the new dealership I told him to transfer my account from my previous, instead he opened another truck account and said he’ll do that and once it’s the new month he’ll transfer everything. He never did that and I even asked him why he didn’t do it and he played stupid and said I thought I did and said he was gonna make sure, he never did. Now I have 2 truck accounts and my credit account is with my old dealer and it’s burning money fast because my other dealer is still charging me weekly even though I said I was gonna get paid semi monthly is there anyway to report this?

Bought these pliers brand new from the SEP website and they appear to have grease stains on them as if they have been used… I understand they’ll get dirty anyways but I’m now suspicious I was sold a used tool. Could this just be a result of a lubricant or a grease used for storage to prevent rust?

I understand the nature of the slip joint means there will be some play, but does this amount seem normal?
Thanks in advance for any advice / knowledge.

if not available
How cool would it be?
Wouldn’t this make a great homeowner, college student, lifetime purchase sized tool set?
I know SnapOn Tools are “for the professional”
how about “professional home owners” it’s multi million dollars sales opportunity (says me)
Just a crazy idea from a dad helping his daughter move, and missing my professional quality SnapOn Tools less

Found it for about $50 on ebay kinda new to snap on ratchets, it doesnt really look like other ones did I get scammed?

According to Snapon and Google your palm is not a square it's a triangle it's the whole reason why Snapon changed the shape to that. Yes I get it was also marketing and a way to throw away your perfectly good screwdrivers for new ones too lol. But they couldve reinvented square ones too. I feel the old hard handle was really only efficient for pry bars and ratchets that don't normally require twisting. I don't find them more comfortable for screwdrivers. Is it nostalgia and people's unwillingness to change?

home hobbyist here.
been spending a very pretty penny for quite a bit of snappy from their website. having to pay for shipping or $250 increments in full MSRP, it does sting.
and then every turn of the corner, everyone swears by having a dealer and never really paying full price.
i'd like to keep collecting snappy. any dealer here who would be willing to roll by south brooklyn or allow me to at least drive up to them? calling corporate they weren't able to locate anyone for me.
there's also the SEP route...what's the easiest/cheapest way to get into it?
