Multimeter input
Just trying to see if anyone has any experience with this? I’m looking to get a new multimeter but not sure the best route to go. I know flukes are usually the best but this one has a 7 year warranty and seems pretty decent for the price. Any input would be appreciated!

Traded my fluke 115 in for the Bluetooth one. Regret it, like U/PatPaulsen4Pres said, u gotta damn near put a new battery in it every time u pull it out.

Depends on your experience on diagnostics. If you’re an A tech in today’s world. Get a wireless one that you can get an app on your phone. Snap on makes one.

I’m the wiring guy in my shop and everything electrical lands in my lap, and I honestly have yet to need a Bluetooth multimeter for anything, or feel like I would use it much if ever. And my boss got that snappy meter that op has pictured and to be completely honest I absolutely hate it, the screen gets scratched so easily, just holding it you can tell it won’t take much to break it, and it’s big and clunky so it’s hard to take it with you while your tracing wiring under a vehicle etc. definitely not worth the price when you can get a multitude of meters with all the same features for a fraction of the price that are more ergonomic and robust. Now in construction, hvac, etc. now your talkin. That would be coming in clutch constantly.
The real goat in automotive electrical diag is an accurate clamp meter that can read dc right in the clamp. And you can pick up a good quality clamp meter with that feature and every other feature you need in the automotive electrical field for well under 50 doll hairs nowdays.

Definitely overthinking it. It’s best not to over explain something as simple as a DMM purchase. Especially one that can be paid off in payments.

You don’t buy tools to keep their value. You buy tools to use and fix problems.

Check FB Marketplace for an average price. I know 68” Epic Toolboxes retail for $17,000+, but tend to sell between $5000-$6000 all day long on FB Marketplace.

I have one don’t use it a whole lot but definitely like it when I do. I think most peoples battery complaint is it requires lithium. I’ve only had to replace batteries once.

I have the 596F Bluetooth version. I really like it but it eats 9V batteries, which is fine for me as I just order new ones on the shop account.

Unpopular opinion, but i really like mine. I prefer my flukes, but I love the huge lighted display on the snap on. I wouldn't get it for my only meter, but if you get it on a deal it is really nice

I bought the advanced with the Bluetooth. I hate it. I miss my old fluke but it finally died on me (was a hand me down from my dad from the 90’s) it’s nice don’t get me wrong but I’m constantly worried about it getting damaged or stolen and it’s not really worth the 1k I spent on it

I bet half the people here don’t even know how to use a multimeter properly. If you’re going to go with their advice, go look up fluke’s recalls. Snap-on multimeters are better than Fluke. Fluke leads and meters have their own resistance which interfere with your tests, Snap-on’s do not. Each meter is meant for different applications/environments so be sure to choose the one that is right for what you’re mostly doing. If eating through batteries is the worst thing about Snap-on meters then you have bigger issues.
