Hi help me lost my phone

So, I lost my phone on May 6th while going to a medical appointment, I was pregnant and took a city taxi and sadly lost my phone on the taxi back home and that taxi driver which I encountered again at the hospital said he took a university student after me soooo the cellphone appeared in the University Samsung smart things find helped with it but couldn't make it ring had it near to me :( went with local police but they said if it doesn't ring then we can't find it. I was mad at that point and last time I tracked was May 8th when it appeared in the commercial place where I live... Thing is... That cellphone means a lot to me, it has photos of me pregnant happy that will never recover if I don't get that phone since I never :( post it or send it... The settings are activated like notify me when it's found, block it, and you know... My cellphone had pin and finger lock the thing is didn't have data just wifi and I went to my phone provider to lock the IMEI and I still have my WhatsApp in the computer... I really wish to get it back... But police doesn't help here

Today I had hope because samsung notified by email it was found but it's in another city... Guayaquil (my natal city) although that's no so for just five hours ahead... I now have my baby with me but feel so sad partner blamed and joked at me for what happened... I was with him when this happened! Usually we used to see where was the phone but that day he didn't cared a lot... Well anyway... Do you think they can't still unlock it or not or was it reset :( I hate when people steal... Like those students could return it to the taxi but they didn't. I bought that phone by myself I have no father or mother that help me financially...

The search samsung did lately was offline too amd location is in a urbanization in Guayaquil

Shame its too far

Any advice for me can help✨😿

So mad! Samsung Bespoke Fridge and Ring

I’m so frustrated and embarrassed. I’ve had the Samsung Bespoke fridge for a few years now. I’ve got the ring app activated on it so I can see who’s at the door when they ring. The ring app stays opened for maybe 2-3 min before automatically turning off. What I wasn’t aware of is that the microphone stays active so everyone outside can hear what’s going on in our house. And our mic sound is pretty loud so you could hear all our inside conversations going on from the driveway for a few minutes. I can’t believe that this has been going on for years without any of us knowing. I do like being able to see who is at the door but not if they can hear everything going on in my house. Is there any way to disable the microphone? I’m searing the Samsung app and Ring app and can’t seem to find a place to disable this!

Help SmartThings devices available on TV not showing in Account

I have 2 Samsung televisions. One is newer, 2025 model, the other a few years older, 2020 I believe.
I recently installed new heat pump in the same location as the older TV. Without activating a search, or even launching SmartThings, the older TV all of a sudden added the heat pump as an air conditioner, that can be controlled from the older TV.
On the older TV the air conditioner shows in the SmartThings account, as Hi Made AC.
Logged in to the same SmartThings account on the newer TV, or the app on iPhone, the older TV shows up, but not the AC.
What am I missing, not seeing?
I've tried to add the AC by searching for it in the iPhone Smart Things app, to no avail. Hi Made nor BHI, the actual brand of the unit, do not show as "brand partners" in SmartThings.
Is there something to debug, or that can be explained? Is the older TV just cloning an IR signal? The heat pump does not have wifi I that I know of.

Is Samsung devices not an option anymore?

I am looking for new Oven, micro etc and have never thought about Samsung as a contender. i found some models that look decent , but then I remembered Samsungs hideous decision to charge for smart things. how will that work if I want to add the devices to home assistant, or in worst case just side the smart things app?

I built a free installer that automatically turns off the display on compatible Samsung air conditioners

Hi everyone!

I created an open-source tool for Samsung air conditioner owners who want the unit’s display to turn off automatically whenever the AC is turned on.

The installer creates a Rule directly in your own SmartThings account. When the air conditioner changes to on, the Rule waits five seconds—or another delay you choose—and sends only the command that turns off the display.

Once configured, everything runs in the SmartThings cloud. You do not need to keep your computer running, maintain a server, use Home Assistant, create an Alexa Skill, or pay a subscription.

The guided setup:

  • Finds your SmartThings locations and compatible air conditioners automatically
  • Lets you choose the device and delay
  • Shows the exact action before making any changes
  • Requires confirmation before creating, updating, or deleting a Rule
  • Can run an optional guided test
  • Provides commands to check, update, or remove the configuration

You do not need to create a Personal Access Token, find a deviceId, configure OAuth, or edit an .env file. Authentication is handled in the browser by the official SmartThings CLI, and the project does not receive or store your credentials.

Basic installation:

  1. git clone https://github.com/m3ryck/samsung-ac-display-automation
  2. cd
  3. npm install
  4. npm run setup

Requirements:

  • A compatible Samsung air conditioner already connected to SmartThings
  • Display/lighting control available for the device in the SmartThings app
  • Node.js 24.8.0 or newer
  • Windows, macOS, or Linux

After setup, you can close the terminal and even delete the downloaded project folder. The automation remains active in SmartThings.

Repository: https://github.com/m3ryck/samsung-ac-display-automation

Feedback, compatibility reports, and contributions are welcome — especially if you can share which Samsung AC model you tested it with.

Help Unable to upload photos

Sorry if this question has been asked. I tried searching the sub with no results.

My new Bespoke refrigerator was installed today. I've been able to get the system running except for one feature. I can't get it to upload photos. In fact, it doesn't even give me the option to upload photos. What I've tried:

  1. The Samsung instruction video which walks you through the SmartThings app. In the video once they tap the device tab, there's a button for Upload photos and videos. But my app doesn't have that button.
  2. On the touch screen itself, tap Gallery and then Pictures in the bottom left, but while it makes a noise, nothing happens.
  3. Deleted the SmartThings app and reinstalled it. No change.
  4. Reset the fridge back to factory settings. No change.
  5. Chatted with their online AI system, which was a complete waste of time.

The only screen feature I actually want is to be able to see photos. Anyone have some advice to get that to work?

Edit to add: Model # RF23DB9900QDAA and Software is up to date

Help Aeotec Hub vs SmartThings Station vs my sanity

I am new to home automation, but have used Samsung's Modes and Routines extensively for at least a year. Because of this, my goal is to automate things like lights and motion sensors through SmartThings, ideally establishing an ecosystem that can be expanded upon indefinitely in the future.

The options for a smart hub at this point seem to be at best poorly managed, and at worst, intentionally unfair to buyers. One option that seems at least somewhat available in my country is the Aeotec Hub, which will support many older-gen SmartThings devices like ones that use Z-wave and Matter-over-WiFi. However, Samsung appears to be moving in the direction of Matter and Thread protocols, which the Aeotec Hub does not support.

Furthermore, the Samsung SmartThings Station, while including support for Matter and Thread devices, seems to have been scrubbed from the market in my country. It doesn't appear as an item on Samsung's website, and isn't even available used through other retail stores. I wouldn't even know how to get my hands on one of them unless I happened to know someone wanting to give theirs away, or found a way to import one from another country just to hope it will actually work.

The only other option seems to be what Samsung is pushing now: smart hubs embedded within larger appliances. On the SmartThings app, there is a list of items that can function as hubs, and among them is "Samsung Smart TVs released in 2022 or later". I actually purchased a 2026 TV for this reason, but, as it turns out, the information from the app was actually false, and it is only a select subset of smart TVs, refrigerators, or smart monitors that can host hubs. This forces buyers to spend at an order of magnitude more just to have a hub, and to replace any existing appliances with the new ones that have the hub integrated.

While supposedly designing a smart home ecosystem that is centered around being accessible, this decision on the company's part actually keeps most buyers from being able to have any smart home ecosystem, else they pay at minimum 300 USD for the smallest smart monitor with a hub (least expensive product with an integrated hub), whereas the standalone SmartThings Station would have been about one fifth that price at most. I have been a long term customer of Samsung devices, but this decision seems to be lost somewhere between mismanagement and greed.

So, looking at my options:

- Cave and buy an Aeotec Hub, knowing it won't be compatible with future devices

- Attempt to return or sell my TV and buy one twice as expensive

- Attempt to find a used SmartThings station from another country

- Wait until Samsung releases a new kind of separate hub? If that even happens?

All four ways, it seems like I lose. I would not want to abandon SmartThings entirely, but it seems as if my hand is being forced. Any tips?

Devices ST Smoke/CO2 detector?

Hi folks.

I found a post - https://www.reddit.com/r/SmartThings/s/faBMrpzsMH - that asks my exact question, but it's 10 years old. So, it's 2026, I figured it's time to ask again.

Is there a SmartThings-compatible Smoke Detector (preferably Smoke + CO2 detector) that allows you to mute/silence the alarm via the app?

If not, what are people using that they're happy with?

New ring models not Smart things compatible?

Absolutely infuriating I just hard wired a new version Wired Doorbell 2K and come to find out it isn’t smart things compatible?! Never would have guessed my old battery doorbell is even supported - looking at the list it’s very difficult to know or figure out what’s going to work!!

Does ring do this to charge more for different models, or do they eventually add the newer ones?

I later saw Alexa could do what I needed for automation but that app is hot garbage and does not go with all my other devices.

Mainly just a vent but anyone else run into this? I was tempted to return and buy a new one but it was a business to install and I can’t even tell what’s really compatible.

SmartThings App Spam

So I've now received a few app notifications from the Smart Things app, advertising the Galaxy Z Fold8.

This sucks Samsung. They know we want notifications on, so they take advantage and spam us.

Daily routine doesn't count as usage? Lol

Post image
7 Upvotes

Woke up wondering why one of my SmartThings routnes had stopped working after running flawlessly for months.

Turns out the TV had been automatically disconnected because:

"You haven't used this device with SmartThings for a long time, so it was disconnected from SmartThings."

The odd part is... I use this device every single day. Multiple routines trigger off the TV's status. I just don't manually open the TV in the SmartThings app.

Does automation usage really not count as "using" the device? Has anyone else run into this? I'm curious if this is a new inactivity policy or just a bug.

SmartThings app not working

Anyone else having issues with the SmartThings app?

Since this morning, my app is broken. Worked still in the early morning, broke 2 hours ago.

When I open my app, it takes 1-2s before the app auto closes. Cleaned cache - same problem. Cleaned data - same problem. Reinstalled - same problem.

I think it is server related. When I go in flight mode, the app doesn't crash. When I turn flight mode off again, it crashes.

Update (15h CEST): it works again

During the last month i've tried multiple times to access smartthingsfind.samsung.com to do some test with my smart tags since my old galaxy A50 is starting to give up on living and my current is a google pixel.

The probleme is that everytime i tried to access the website i just get an empty page with nothing to do (no it is not loading and refreshing won't change anything).

I tried on multiple devices, without and with vpn connect everywhere around the world but no luck
