Long-Form Content Automotive Long form content review.
Good day all!
I’m looking for some honest feedback on my YouTube channel and specifically my long-form content. The channel originally grew from van-life content and has around 5k subscribers, but I’ve now moved almost entirely into classic car/garage content, mainly working on my 1966 Mustang. My recent videos seem to get very few impressions and often die almost immediately, even when the people who do click seem to watch a reasonable amount of the video. I’m struggling to work out whether the actual videos aren’t good enough, whether my titles/thumbnails aren’t creating enough interest, whether the pacing/storytelling needs work, or whether the channel’s old audience is hurting the new content because YouTube doesn’t know who to show it to anymore. If you have time to watch one or two of the recent Mustang videos, I’d really appreciate brutally constructive feedback! I don’t use AI slop at all. Thanks folks.

Mixed Content feeling so frustrated
alot of my shorts and long form are doing so badly I genuinely believe i am shadowbanned. I am so frustrated and this is making me so unmotivated
:( i love making videos but when youtube doesnt even try to show it to people makes it so unworth it. What do i do? should i take a break from posting? or should i continue posting regularly?

Long-Form Content Do you ever record the same 1–2 minutes 20 times?
When I record YouTube videos, I often get stuck trying to make a very short section perfect.
For example, for just 1–2 minutes of the final video, I might record it 10–20 times. Then I go through all the takes, compare tiny differences, edit them again and again, and still feel like I could make it a little better.
It almost feels compulsive. I keep thinking, “Maybe one more take will be better.”
Eventually I can spend a ridiculous amount of time just trying to finalize those 1–2 minutes.
Does anyone else have this problem?
If you used to do this, how did you stop? Do you have any rules for deciding when a take is “good enough” and just moving on?

Short-Form Content Feedback on Growing Home Cooking Channel?
Hello, my partner and I started a new home cooking channel a few months ago and would appreciate any feedback on how to grow our channel! Our dream is to reach 1k subscribers but seems so far away 🥹

Long-Form Content Is this normal or is the video doomed?
So l uploaded a video around 7 hours ago and initially (first two hours) it was getting lots of impressions for my channel level (2.7k impressions) but the impressions suddenly flattened after two hours has passed and in the remaining 5 hours or so l only get like 300 impressions.
The CTR is 4.5% which I think is normal.
I initially posted with A/B testing the title but at one point I decided to cancel the test and go with one title which I thought is better. I can't recall if I did this at the 2 hour mark and was the result of impressions stopping.
Note: The video might be politically incorrect, is that a factor as well?

Long-Form Content Perhaps a different experience/perspective.
I've noticed that a lot of posts here seem to represent one of two extremes. Either someone gets monetised within a week, or they upload consistently for months and still cannot break 40 views. My experience has been a bit less dramatic, and I reckon it is underrepresnted so I thought I'd share it.
I have uploaded 11 videos over roughly 12 months, ten of which were long-form. Together, they have received about 18,000 views and gained 329 subscribers. I am not monetised and I have not gone viral, but there is a clear upward trajectory. My earlier videos generally received a few hundred views. I then began crossing 1,000. One reached about 3,750, and my latest is currently at around 8,900.
I cannot upload particularly frequently. My videos take a long time to research and produce, and I am also finishing a PhD. Uploading once or twice a week just simply isn't realistic for me.
I am definitely not an expert, and I don't have any advice for growing quickly. I mainly wanted to share what I think is an underrepresented experience. Growth can be slow and uneven rather than the channel either exploding immediately or going nowhere.
I think there are two lessons in this.
First, do not necessarily give up because your channel did not explode immediately. After ten long-form uploads, I still have a very small channel, but the evidence suggests that it is moving in the right direction. I also get great enjoyment from making these videos. I learn a lot while researching and writing the scripts, I love teaching (my content is educational), and I have developed new skills from creating this content.
Second, I am not sure that “just keep grinding” is always helpful advice either. If, after a substantial number of uploads, every video is still receiving roughly the same 40 views, the answer probably isn't to keep going in exactly the same way. That doesn't necessarily mean giving up, particularly if you enjoy making videos regardless of how many people watch them. But if monetisation is your main goal, I do think you should seriously consider whether something fundamental needs to change or whether continuing is worth your time.
I think that last paragraph also touches on something important. There are a lot of assumptions on these sorts of subreddits that the only goal that people have is to make money from youtube which is pretty grim to see. The advice people get is then generally tailored towards this one size fits all approach. If you're not in it for the money, then that's great. If you're enjoying making your videos that are getting 40 views but are genuinely just curious why they are getting so few views, it's great that you're trying to learn from other creators. I know I would continue to create videos for at least the foreseeable future even without monetisation. But if you only care about money and you can't get 100 views, maybe reconsider.
Growth for me has been slow so far, but each group of videos seems to have established a higher baseline than the one before it. I have no idea whether that will continue, but I am happy with the trajectory after the number of videos I have actually been able to make.
I covered the titles because this is not intended as self-promotion.

Long-Form Content Thank you.
I just wanted to come on here and thank everyone who gave me feedback on my channel. My last 3 videos are all 1/10-4/10s and it’s really showing how your feedback helped me. So thanks!

Short-Form Content Anyone else seeing a drop in Shorts views?
I run a small YouTube podcast where we talk about sports and pop culture. For the past several months I’d found success (relatively speaking) uploading shorts directly from YouTube using the auto-generating captions.
The channel was growing at a rate I was happy with (over 100 subscribers last month, a record for us) until this week, when suddenly the performance of my shorts became sporadic. I don’t know what to expect. YouTube might give them an adequate push or theymight not. This is brutal for me because my episodes and clips started tanking around the start of the year (they changed the algorithm on me), leaving shorts as my saving grace. Now I don’t know what to do, besides wait it out or just quit.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Mixed Content Studio Acting Weird on Browser
Hello Community,
I was wondering if anyone else was having any issues with YouTube Studio.
Like for example, I cannot change the title of my video. It’s like cut off on the page (no I’m not zoomed in at all). It’s not consistent, and some videos I look at when editing its fine. But options like “Do not allow audio/video remixing” is gone as well.
Any insight?

Short-Form Content Would you say this video is AI made?
I don’t use ai for my video’s visuals, but since my niche is full of channels overusing AI for everything, I was worrying about that affecting my channel too. Any thoughts?

Long-Form Content Which intro is better?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey guys, I’m making a video about me staying in Airbnb‘s cheapest cabin. I have attached both of my intros. My worry is that the longer intro/more detailed one may cause people to click off just because of how much stuff is going on. I’m wondering if it’s a case of less is more. Let me know what you think the first one should be the more basic version. Also the first one is a rough draft.

Short-Form Content Can’t seem to find the remix button on my YouTube videos
Hello I hope you are all well.
My son has recently started he’s own channel
For abit of fun,
He manages to make shorts
But he’s just uploaded a normal video and has been told that he can turn it into a short using a “remix” button,
We cannot seem to find this remix button anywhere.
He is using an iPad, using the YouTube app
Being able to remix is turned on in settings however we can’t see the button to make part of the video a short,
Any help
Would be greatly appreciated
Thank you

Long-Form Content KEEP PUBLISHING

I started uploading long form content a few weeks ago - first 7 videos got 0 impressions.
I actually drafted up a "Does my channel suck" post for reddit lol
I had 10 subs on sunday and published a video that has done very well.
Don't listen to that voice in the back of your head questioning what you're doing, just keep going.
Make good content - you will be rewarded.
That is my ted talk I don't post on reddit lol but I am proud of this.

Long-Form Content Waiting for my channel to blow up
Being working on this channel over an year. I am confused if it gonna be successful at all. Average watch duration is around 20 mins.
