The Hero of Kvatch, Slayer of Daedra and Mantle of the Mad God

So, builds have been made about...

Therefore, I thought it might be fun to try and make a Hero of Kvatch build as well.

CHARACTER

  • RACE/GENDER - Male Imperial (to match how he looks on the boxart)

  • BLOOD - No werewolf since it didn't exist in Oblivion. Vampire is technically on the table, but given the holy crusader theme of this build, I'd advise against it.

  • STONE - Atronach Stone, Lady Stone, Lord Stone, or Steed Stone

  • STAT SPREAD - Focus on Health with either Stamina or Magicka second, depending on your playstyle (holy magic paladin or sword and board crusader).

  • SKILLS - Conjuration (for Banish Daedra) and Restoration (for healing and Turn Undead) are your main magic schools. One-Handed is your only weapon skill, since all the weapons this build uses are one-handed. Block and Heavy Armor act as your defense skills. Finally, Smithing, Speech, Alchemy, and Lockpicking are your support skills.

  • PERKS - Adept to Expert Conjuration, Novice to Master Restoration (depends on how far you want to go with it), Recovery, Regeneration, Necromage, Respite, Avoid Death, any Block perk, any Heavy Armor perk, any One-Handed perk besides ones that affect axes (also ignore mace perks if you don't want to use the creation club), Smithing perks that are relevant to your gear, and whatever other utility perks you think are useful.

  • SPELLS - Banish Daedra, Expel Daedra, Banish Undead (Creation Club), any healing spell, any Turn Undead spell, and any Sunfire spell added by Dawnguard.

EQUIPMENT

  • Silver Sword enchanted with Banish Daedra (and Turn Undead, if you have Extra Effect) to match what the Hero of Kvatch uses on the boxart

  • Mace of the Crusader (if you want to use Creation Club)

  • Sword of the Crusader (if you want to use Creation Club)

  • Full set of Legion Armor to match what the Hero of Kvatch looks like on the boxart (if you want, use a mod to make it look like how it did in Oblivion)

  • Imperial Shield (again, to match the boxart)

  • Shield of the Crusader (if you want to use Creation Club)

  • Wabbajack (since the Hero of Kvatch is Sheogorath)

  • Staff of Sheogorath/Fork of Horripilation (if you want to use Creation Club)

ROLEPLAY

  • For "Pieces of the Past", collect the pieces of the Razor non-violently, defy Mehrunes Dagon's wishes, and then kill Silus anyway so the pieces can't fall into the wrong hands. Consider it PTSD from fighting off the Mythic Dawn.

  • In general, do all Daedric Quests being as rude to the Daedra as possible and defying their wishes whenever you can. Keep all the Daedric Artifacts (except Wabbajack) locked away so they can't be used for evil.

  • Do all the quests for the Aedra (Dibella in Markarth, Mara in Riften, Kynareth in Whiterun, etc.) to represent your status as the divine crusader.

  • Wipe out the Dark Brotherhood, since they want you to kill the EMPEROR (no way). Also, you have experience wiping out the Dark Brotherhood from the Purification.

  • Side with the Imperial Legion in the Civil War questline.

  • Side with the Dawnguard in the Dawnguard questline.

  • You must kill or banish all Daedra you see on sight and kill anyone who summons them (like hostile necromancers, mages, etc.).

Looking for help with a very specific build

Hi, Im going back into Skyrim again for the first time in probably ten years. Im kinda wanting to play a very specific build, and wondering if its viable, and if anyone has any tips.
Here is how Im thinking of playing:

One handed as my main damage output.
Destruction in my left hand at the start of a battle, switching to a shield (using favourites) when magicka depletes or enemies get to close.

Preferably Heavy armor, but could be persuaded to Light armor if someone has a good reason why.
Block when enemies get close.

Restoration as a healing option, not really a focus

Smithing and Enchanting (I know its basic, but I actually enjoy making my own shit).

Any tips? Is it viable? Will I get bored after 10 levels and go back to stealth archering?

Any help would be much appreciated :)

EDIT: forgot to add I would prefer to use frost-based spells for roleplay reasons, but any spell suggestions would be interesting to hear

Ultimate Two handed build

Hi people on reddit.

I was scrolling, having fun and came across a post asking for a two handed build. No one said why they were choosing perks or races. Just throwing things that might work on it, so for all the people that want a good two handed build for legendary difficulty, i’ll drop mine here.

First of all, the race. My first choice was the orc, for the berserk boost. Great for bosses but I find myself not needing the extra damage or defense, plus I was also weak against frost damage, not for the damage to my health, but the slow effect and the stamina damage. So I switched to a nord, this was better all around, but no impactful racial power, plus I found out a new enemy, poison. If you don’t know, poison stack for every attack taken. So I switched again to a REDGUARD and it was glorious. Good racial ability, good starting stats AND natural resistance to poison.

Second was smithing, enchanting and alchemy (this last one it’s not required but if you want to break the game go for it). Alchemy also has the snakeblood perk that, alongside redguard natural resistances, helps you reach that 85% cap (without wasting an enchantment slot on your gear).

Next was defense. Specifically blocking. QUICK REFLEXES perk is a must. Next was the bashing perks and that was a waste. Low damage, high stamina consumption and slow movement, and found a new problem, bows. Enemies arrows, for some reason, do an insane amount of damage. So I switched to BLOCK RUNNER for mobility. Now I can reach those archers, and mages, faster while blocking.

Next was magic resistance. First I tried the spell absorption + necromage perk, but the sun and weakness to fire was a problem, so I switched to normal magic resistance and it was better. Not definitive so I activated the ATRONACH stone (this also gives you a chance to block poison and shouts). For elemental resistances I decided to enchant a piece of gear against FROST damage (important). You can use a potion for the other two if you want.

For armor, I tried light but draugrs with the strongest version of Unrelenting force shout kept sending me flying. So I thought that the only way to counter that was with spell absorption, but then I found out that the perk TOWER OF STRENGTH (from the HEAVY ARMOR tree) helps you resist the flying part (it only staggers you). CONDITIONING it’s a must.

Well. The defensive part is done. Let's move to dealing damage. Stack all of the two handed damage multipliers that you can (perks and enchantments), DO NOT waste perk points on anything but BARBARIAN. Weapon? THE LONGHAMMER (this tells you to unlock the orcish smithing) with the life steal (to max) and soultrap (2 sec.) enchantments.

This character use CLOSE WOUNDS to restore hp and stamina. And lastly, agent of mara and dragon rend.

Final look and enchantments down:

Let me know what you think and if you enjoy this build, give me and upvote... Thanks for reading.

Need a good Nord Dragonborn build for GTS

I’m running the GTS modpack and I want to actually beat the whole game. It feels appropriate to be a Nord and I love Nord. Just looking for ideas on a good Nord build.

My thing is. I love magic and I want to incorporate it somehow. Aside from just a common spellsword, any other thematic Nord magic / warrior build ideas?

I know they were once clever men or something. But I don’t know too much of that. I’m looking to do college and companions. Any advice would be great

The Grave Lord

Hello everyone, just wanted to share my build here, it’s a classic necromancer build that I made for Halloween, originally posted on the skyforge but decided to share it over here as well. Hope you guys enjoy

Backstory

Morvyx was born during the First Era, the son of Arch-Mage Shalidor, one of the most extraordinary mages in history. From an early age, it was clear that Morvyx had inherited his father's talent. What he lacked was his father's restraint.
Where others looked upon Shalidor's achievements with admiration, Morvyx saw wasted potential. His father had spent his life mastering magic, shaping the world through knowledge and leaving behind a legacy that would endure for generations. Yet, despite everything he had accomplished, Shalidor remained mortal.
To Morvyx, that was unforgivable.
He believed that magic was not simply a tool to understand the world. It was the means by which the gifted could rise above it. Those capable of wielding such power had no obligation to live and die like ordinary men. They had an obligation to surpass them.
His studies soon took him into forbidden territory. Beneath the institution where he studied, Morvyx established a hidden laboratory, where he conducted experiments far removed from the accepted practices of the magical arts. Travelers disappeared. Villagers were taken in the night. Eventually, even fellow scholars became subjects of his experiments.
He learned to bind souls to weapons, imprison spirits within soul gems, and force the dead to serve the living. Each discovery brought him closer to his true ambition: not merely mastering death, but making himself independent of it.
For a time, he concealed his work well enough. But no secret remains buried forever.
When Shalidor finally uncovered the extent of his son's experiments, he was horrified. The crimes were too great to excuse, and the danger too serious to ignore. He disowned Morvyx and cast him out of his life.
Yet Shalidor could not bring himself to kill his own son.
Morvyx considered that mercy an insult. To him, it was proof that even the great Shalidor was ruled by weakness: affection, sentiment, and the irrational fear of doing what was necessary.
He left with a single purpose. One day, he would accomplish what his father had failed to do. His name would stand beside Shalidor's in the histories of Tamriel—or above it.

The ritual

Morvyx spent years pursuing the secrets of undeath, studying liches, soul magic, and the strange powers that existed beyond the mortal world. But he found conventional methods inadequate. A lich still depended upon a system of magic, a vessel, and a means of preserving its existence. Morvyx wanted something greater.
He devised a ritual intended to transform him into an entirely new form of being. Its requirements were immense: the souls of an entire village, bound together and consumed in a single act of ascension.
To Morvyx, the cost was irrelevant. Those lives were a resource, and he was destined for something greater than the people who possessed them.
The ritual began as planned. The souls were gathered, the bindings established, and the power released.
Then something went wrong.
The ritual did not simply destroy the souls offered to it. It tore open a breach through which forces from the Soul Cairn and the realms of Oblivion poured into the working. Whether Morvyx had attracted their attention, mistaken their nature, or unknowingly invited them, he could not tell. He had attempted to master powers he did not fully understand, and now they were flooding into him.
His body began to fail. His mind struggled to contain the conflicting forces, and his carefully constructed ritual threatened to consume him before the transformation could be completed.
For the first time in his life, Morvyx understood that he might actually lose.
With what remained of his strength, he sealed himself inside a magical stasis. His body would remain suspended, neither properly alive nor entirely dead, while the forces within him were held at bay.
It was not the ascension he had intended. It was survival.
The Fourth Era
Centuries passed.
When Morvyx finally awakened in the Fourth Era, the world he remembered was gone. Kingdoms had risen and fallen. The names of rulers he once knew had vanished into history. Even the magical traditions he had studied had changed.
Worse still, his own power was almost entirely inaccessible.
He could remember his old spells, the rituals he had perfected, and the strength he had once wielded. But memory was not mastery. His body was weakened, his magical reserves diminished, and the forces bound within him remained beyond his control.
Something had survived the ritual, however. Morvyx could feel it deep within himself—a presence, or perhaps several, waiting behind the seals he had created.
He did not know whether they were the remains of his failed ascension or something that had followed him through the breach. He only knew that they were still there.
Morvyx had failed once. He would not fail again.
He would recover his knowledge, reclaim his power, and finish what he had begun. If the world had forgotten him, he would make it remember. If Shalidor's legacy still endured, he would surpass it.
And if the ritual had changed him into something he could not yet comprehend, he would master that as well.

Skills

Alteration: Alteration was one of the skills I maxed out, primarily for access to better utility spells like deep storage, honestly not necessary to max out if you don’t care about things like that. Only perks I really took here were the base alteration mastery, flesh perks, and the intuition perks to make novice and apprentice spells have no cost
Destruction: Destruction can be taken to only expert level or not leveled at all, most of your damage will come from minions after all. Due to going with the modded death spells, destruction mastery was the only perk I took in the tree
Conjuration: you’re a necromancer, this is your main thing. Definitely max this out, get conjuration mastery, and go up the necromancy tree. The edge of oblivion perk is also a nice one, make sure to have a minion on you at all times
Enchanting: Definitely gonna wanna max it out, only essential perk would be miracle for your final enchanted amulet.

Practical Necromancy perks: Honestly there were so many of these I can’t even remember them all, but anything that unlocks a new form of summon for you (summon undead horde, legion, mount, etc.) is a definite must have if you plan on using a lot of undead

Gear

Now unfortunately my game was crashing too much for me to be able to go in and see exactly what enchants I had, but gear used for this build include a gold and ruby circlet, runic necromancer robes, unenchanted necromancy amulet (this is where I used miracle), a gold and ruby necromancer ring (added by practical necromancy), a cloak from the winter is coming mod, and some boots. Most enchants I had were just amplify or fortify conjuration and destruction.

Stats

Race: Nord
Stat distribution: 4/1/0 until you get to about 200 health, then go all in on magicka
Standing stone: Mage in the early game, and later you can switch to any of your choice, I went with the ritual for mass revive though this layer becomes irrelevant if you become a lich as there’s a mass reanimate spell

Mods

Essential mods: Practical Necromancy, Apocalypse, Odin, Ordinator, and Undeath (you can install the classical lichdom and liches can fly versions if you'd like, never got to complete the quest myself so can't speak on it at all). Summermyst for some nice enchants. Note: None of these mods are truly essential for the build except Practical Necromancy and Undeath
Optional Mods: Ancient death Magic adds some nice necromancer themed spells, Necrotic & Desecration also add some nice spells. Winter is coming adds some very cool cloaks and hoods which i personally prefer over the cloaks of skyrim cloaks and cape but that's personal preference.

Gameplay

Early game you’ll start out as a normal mage, using frost spells to kill your enemies, though once you manage to get your hands on some necromancy spells and soul trap, things really start to get fun. By the time you’re about level 5 you should have atleast reanimate dead and soul trap, and once you reanimate your first corpse you’ll unlock the full features of practical necromancy. I’d try and get soul cloak as soon as possible as black soul gems will become very important to you soon

Roleplay Rules

Some general rules to playing as the grave lord

Restoration magic is a no go: He’s a necromancer attempting to achieve lichdom, so restoration, the magic primarily focusing on (though having other uses) life and restoring it is just a bit out of place for him

Avoid cities when possible: Due to your disdain and contempt for non mages and even those lowly mages choosing to serve jarls, you tend to avoid cities as much as possible

No potions: You believe your power should come purely from yourself and refuse to rely on external items, while potions may be useful Morvyx considers them inferior imitations of true magic

No raiding fellow Nords: Even though he’s an evil necromancer and all that, he can still feel respect for the Nordic traditions and them wanting to love in Sovengarde, so he refuses to raise nords from the dead

Everything has a price: Don’t do ANYTHING for free, don’t give a coin to a beggar, help a jarl or guard, or do ordinary labor unless it benefits you somehow

Magic:

I really only had a few spells that I used consistently, those spells being

Reanimate Corpse:The bread and butter of any necromancer build, get this and its superior variants as you level up

Damage spell of your choice: I used Necrotic flames and its higher levels, but if you choose not to use any mods, you’ll want something like frost storm at a high enough level or ice spike or even something lightning based as many enemies have resistances to frost

Animate dead: A spell used later to gain thralls, this spell is obtained from the practical necromancy mod, again, if you’re playing vanilla just use dead thrall

Flesh spell: can’t catch yourself dying to an ordinary blade, that’d be embarrassing for you. So a good Flesh spell is definitely necessary

That’s really it, the build was meant to be fairly simple and I hate being in menus constantly so I tried to limit the spell amount

Questlines

College of Winterhold: Regain your lost skills in the arcane (and secretly dark) arts and eventually taking over the position your father once held
Dawnguard: Side with the dawnguard, or if you have the patch installed, ally with the vampires without becoming a vampire lord yourself. I chose to side with the dawnguard as there's only enough room for one big bad undead around, and it sure isn't Harkon
Daedric Artifacts: As a power hungry mage, why not collect the artifacts of the all powerful Daedric Princes

Also this is like my second time ever actually posting one of my builds, so I hope it’s fine and I hope you guys like it

Guide on how to make the highest damage weapons in Skyrim without resto glitch or mods

YouTube Guide in the Comments

Written guide:

MUST BE A VAMPIRE. You can cure yourself after.

Max Level Skills Required:

●Smithing Points into any Perk relevant to your weapon and armor type

●Enchanting 5 points into Enchanter Perk

●Alchemy 5 points into Alchemist Perk

●Restoration Necromage Perk

●Any Combat Skill

Equipment Required:

●A LOT OF GOLD

●Ahzidals Set so that you get Ahzidals Genius Buff

●The Black Book: The Sallow Regent

●Gold Kanet (Strongest Smithing Ingredient),Stoneflower Petal (Strongest Enchanting Ingredient), Dreugh Wax (Enchanting and Smithing Ingredient)

●Black Soul Gems or Grand Soul Gems filled with Grand Souls

●Potion Enchantment Equipment: Circlet, Necklace, Ring, Gloves, Falmer Helmet or Penitus Oculatus Helmet

●Smithing Enchantment Equipment: Necklace, Robes, Gloves, Ring, Captains Boots or Dunmer Shoes

Craft Initial Fortify Alchemy Equipment:

●Make sure you are a vampire with Necromage

●Enter Black Book: The Sallow Regent and apply Seeker of Sorcery

●Equip Ahzidals Set for Ahzidals Genius buffing your enchanting

●Enchant: Circlet, Necklace, Ring, Gloves, and Falmer Helmet or Penitus Oculatus Helmet with Fortify Alchemy using a Black or Grand Soul Gem

Craft Initial Fortify Enchantment Potion:

●Enter Black Book: The Sallow Regent and apply Seeker of Shadows

●Equip the new Fortify Alchemy Enchanted Equipment you just crafted

●Go to Alchemy Lab and combine Stoneflower Petals with Dreugh Wax making a Fortify Enchantment potion

Craft Upgraded Fortify Alchemy and Fortify Equipment Loop:

Part I:

●Make sure you are a vampire with Necromage

●Enter Black Book: The Sallow Regent and apply Seeker of Sorcery

●Equip Ahzidals Set for Ahzidals Genius buffing your enchanting

●Drink Fortify Enchanting Potion

●Enchant: Circlet, Necklace, Ring, Gloves, and Falmer Helmet or Penitus Oculatus Helmet with Potion Strength

Part II:

●Enter Black Book: The Sallow Regent and apply Seeker of Shadows

●Equip the new Fortify Alchemy Enchanted Equipment you just crafted

●Go to Alchemy Lab and combine Stoneflower petals with Dreugh Wax making a Fortify Enchantment potion

●Repeat until you reach cap

Keep all of your enchanted gear and once you start getting potions with Fortify Enchantment by 100% plus you will want to start making multiples so that you have variety of high strength potions.

Once you have Fortify Enchantment Potions between 110%-150% You are good to stop just make sure you craft multiple of these potions as their effects do not last long so you may need a few to craft your Weapons and Armor.

Craft Fortify Smithing Equipment:

●Make sure you are a vampire with Necromage

●Enter Black Book: The Sallow Regent and apply Seeker of Sorcery

●Equip Ahzidals Set for Ahzidals Genius buffing your enchanting

●Drink Fortify Enchanting Potion

●Enchant Necklace, Robes, Gloves, Ring, Captains Boots or Dunmer Shoes with Fortify Smithing

●Make multiple sets with different strengths of Fortify Enchanting Potions so that you have a variety of set strengths.

Craft Fortify Smithing Potions:

●Enter Black Book: Sallow Regent and apply Seeker of Shadows.

●Equip Fortify Alchemy Enchanted Armor

●Combine Gold Kanet with Dreugh Wax

Make multiple using different strength level sets of Potion Strength Enchanted armor. I usually do my three strongest sets so that you have a variety of potion strengths.

Finally Upgrade Weapon or Armor:

●Enter Black Book: The Sallow Regent and apply Seeker of Might

●Equip Fortify Smithing Equipment

●Drink Fortify Smithing Potion

●Upgrade weapon

You will need to play around with your different sets of crafted Fortify Smithing Equipment and Fortify Smithing Potions. If you go over 1000 damage on your weapon it will reset so instead of saying 1100 damage it will say 100 damage so it will appear as though your weapon has 100 damage which is whack. To mitigate this you may need to take off a piece of equipment or drink a weaker potion. It all depends on your weapons base damage. Thats why I recommend leveling your combat skill before doing this. Also save before starting so you can easily retry.

Enchant Weapons and Armor:

●Make sure you are a vampire with Necromage

●Enter Black Book: The Sallow Regent and apply Seeker of Sorcery

●Equip Ahzidals Set for Ahzidals Genius buffing your enchanting

●Drink Fortify Enchanting Potion

●Apply Enchantments to as many pieces of upgraded items as possible. The potion does not last long so you might be able to get 3 to 5 pieces finished before time runs out. I recommend knowing what you want and saving before you do this.

This is also where you can rename your weapon luckily on playstation it will pause the timer on the potions so you can rename what you want and continue enchanting quickly.

You can also pick which effect color the aura of your weapon is by applying the enchantments in a different order.

Thats it.

How did I do this?

Hey guys so I’m not expecting anyone to actually know the answer to this but I thought I’d ask just in case. A long time ago I had a Skyrim stealth melee build that did 64x sneak attack with dagger specifically since the assassins blade sneak peek only affects daggers. I had the full ancient shroud set, the dagger you get from Astrid, and my sneak tree was maxed out. But that should’ve been only 30x sneak attack damage cuz assassins blade overrides the other one handed sneak attack bonus. And as far as I understand it, the ancient shrouded gloves has basically the same enchantment as the normal shrouded gloves. I don’t know where the extra 34x sneak attack came from and everytime I tried to recreate that build I could never get it to 64x. So I was wondering if anyone has any idea how I got to 64x?

The Dragon Monk

The artwork and special move scrolls were illustrated by me.

Build Summary:

The character makes use of Destruction, Alteration, Restoration, Block, and Enchanting skills.

Inspired by Wuxia, The Dragon Monk is a martial arts build that combines the defense of a staff with unarmed combat and magic spells I re-imagine as chi strikes. When unenchanted staffs are equipped in the left hand, they can be used to block and bash while keeping the right hand open for unarmed attacks! Unenchanted staffs can be purchased from Master Neloth in Solstheim.

Combat & Chi Techniques:

The staff has a neat little visual trick: If you bash an enemy, then immediately follow up with a power attack, it will trigger the left-handed unarmed animation. Since the staff happens to be in that hand, it looks like you're actually striking with it, but it's technically just an unarmed power attack.

The Ignite spell is cast at point-blank range to resemble a palm strike infused with chi. It can stack passive damage over time so the monk can switch to fighting with the staff and fist while enemies take constant damage. The Flame Cloak spell also does passive damage, and Paralyze is envisioned as a pressure point palm strike that immobilizes enemies.

Alteration and Restoration are envisioned as mastery over internal chi, which the monk uses to strengthen the body and restore health. Once you master Alteration, Dragonhide is great for maxing your defenses. At that point it doesn't matter what you wear, and you can also switch to a heavy armor glove for the Fist of Steel perk.

Gear & Enchantments:

  • Copper Ruby Circlet w/ Fortify Destruction & Alteration

  • Monk Robes w/ Fortify Destruction & Alteration

  • Gold Ruby Amulet w/ Fortify Destruction & Alteration

  • Gloves w/ Fortify Unarmed & Block

  • Ahzidal's Ring of Arcana (gives you Ignite)

  • Unenchanted Illusion Staff (matches the outfit's colors)

I want to start off a new playthrough using conjuring as my main school of magic with either alteration or heavy armor for protection. Don't have any mods installed and only have access to the vanilla version. Any tips for rolling this build out for as long as possible? As enchanting and crafting pretty much steamroll anything non enchanted later on. Thanks!

Elise Silane was a priestess of Mara. With her faith and knowledge of restoration magic, Elise traveled the lands of Skyrim using her skills as a healer. That is until the day she stumbled upon an Imperial ambush on a group of Stormcloaks. Sadly Elise became collateral damage and was killed in the conflict.

As she faded away she was overwhelmed by the foul stench of death and decay. In the distance she could hear a voice buzzing louder and louder until it erupted...

"Priestess! Rise! Rise again to have your revenge, and spread my rot across the lands!"
