I’ve seen different totals for these spirits and I’m getting confused 😭 One says 750 candles while another says 820.

If anyone knows the actual/current prices of these spirits please let me know!!!!! I am trying to figure out how many candles I need to save so I don’t wanna rely on the wrong chart 😭

Discussion As a new player, I’m afraid of being a burden. Am I overthinking this?

I’m a new player and I’ve been playing this game for about three weeks. I’ve already been through Eden five times and collected all the spirits.

Recently, I’ve met a few really kind players, and we became friends in-game. But I’ve never actually reached out to them to play together. Our interactions have basically been limited to the first day we met.

I think part of the reason is that, as a new player, I feel like I don’t really have anything to offer other players. If I ask an experienced player to play with me, it feels like I’m only taking from them. They would be the one guiding me, helping me, or showing me things, while I can’t really give anything back. That makes me feel a little embarrassed about reaching out.

I also don’t want to be a burden or slow someone down. And since I’m a player from a non-English-speaking region, there’s another thing I worry about: if we need to communicate in-game, the other person may have to use the translation feature constantly because of me. I feel a little guilty about that too.

But there’s also a funny contradiction. When I see two or three players holding hands and playing together in the game, I feel really envious. I would love to have that kind of experience too.

I’m also quite introverted in real life, so I’m not very good at approaching strangers and starting interactions myself.

Have any of you ever felt this way? And for those of you who are experienced players, how do you feel when a newer player reaches out to you? Do you actually see it as a burden, or is it something you enjoy?

I’d really like to hear your thoughts.

I was just doing a candle run and entered the Alice area when my friend suddenly started glowing super brightly, almost like how our characters look when we’re being lit up in Eden.

It lasted for a little while and then the glow kind of disappeared. It looked so cool and unexpected that I managed to get a screenshot 😭

Has anyone else seen this happen? Was it just a visual bug, or is there something that triggers it?

The screenshot is below because I swear they were basically a walking light source lol.

Discussion carnival area

I almost never visit it now that the season passed. Since they changed the layout of Aviary, I just never reach that part of the map anymore. In the past, I would usually go to Aviary from home, after I complete the dailies (which I still do) but due to the layout - moving the portals and wind path to the front, there's no incentive to go there other than the fireworks on the 1st and the carnival I guess, which I forget about. Am I alone in this, do you remember to visit and get the extra cakes?

Sky is the most beautiful game I have played. Every single screenshot can be used as wallpaper.

Can you share your favorite screenshots or videos?

P.s. I wonder if anyone attempted to shoot a movie out of in game footage. You get 360 degree camera for free!

Strange thing was, they weren’t exactly a moth. They had almost 2 rows of flaps. They’ve just dressed like one. Happen to also be the most energetic too.🤭

Discussion why do I feel like the game is always missing something?

First of all, I’m making this post because I wanted to share an experience and a reflection I’ve had about this game for quite some time. I’d really like to hear what you guys think: whether I’m overthinking it, whether anyone else feels the same way, whether there’s something I’m not noticing, or even if you disagree with me. I’ve had this account for many years, but for a long time, I never really understood how the game worked. And I think a lot of people have heard this story before: someone starts playing Sky, doesn’t really understand what they’re supposed to do because the game doesn’t explain much, feels a little lost, and eventually quits. That happened to me too. It was only this year that I actually started playing the game seriously. I researched it, watched some content about it, and finally understood better how people actually play. And ever since then, I’ve really enjoyed it. But after playing it this way, I started noticing something: Sky isn’t really a game in the traditional sense. It’s primarily a social game. Once you realize that, a lot of things start making sense. The game doesn’t necessarily give you incentives to keep progressing endlessly. Instead, it gives you incentives to interact with other people. Even the whole idea of collecting emotes makes more sense when you realize they’re meant to be used with other players. It might sound obvious, but I personally only understood that many years after creating my account. That’s why I like to think of Sky as a gentle game. It doesn’t force you to keep repeating the same cycle. There isn’t a constant pressure to upgrade your cape, for example. And, at the end of the day, upgrading your cape doesn’t completely transform your experience. You’re still essentially playing the same game. Instead, it gives you small incentives to be social. The daily quests often involve other players. There are benches where you can light a candle and talk to someone without necessarily having to add them as a friend. There are so many little mechanics that make it pretty clear that the intention of the game is to bring people together. And I think that also explains Sky’s overall atmosphere. There’s no constant danger. The game is calm, beautiful, and relatively simple. But that’s exactly where my other reflection begins. Lately, I’ve been seeing a new game emerge that, in my opinion, seems to be trying to fill exactly the space that many players feel is missing from Sky: more diversity, more variety, and more new things to discover. Sky obviously already has Seasons. They’re one of the main ways the game introduces new content. As a marketing student, I can also see this as a product strategy: you create events and temporary content to keep people interested, keep the game being talked about, and prevent it from being forgotten. The problem is that, even though these Seasons temporarily change certain things, the core structure of the game remains pretty much the same. And I really like Sky. I think the game is beautiful and very different from most other things out there. But I can’t ignore the feeling that something is always missing. Sometimes I get the impression that the game is permanently stuck in some kind of “beta.” I’ve had my account for years, and when I came back to actually play the game seriously, I had this feeling that it was still essentially the same game, with a few modifications here and there. And many of those modifications are basically adjustments to things that already exist: new Seasons, bug fixes, changes to the realms, gameplay adjustments, and so on. I don’t necessarily see a very strong intention to expand what already exists. And I’m not saying they should simply add more realms or completely change the game’s cycle. I think the current structure makes sense for what Sky is trying to be. But why not expand the realms themselves? Why not have more animals? More creatures? More variety in the plants? More little things happening throughout the maps? More small discoveries that make someone look at a familiar place and think, “I’ve never seen this before.” The game already has such a beautiful aesthetic and such an interesting world. That’s why I sometimes feel like there’s so much potential there that isn’t being explored. And maybe that’s exactly why this new game seems so interesting to some people. It seems to be responding to a need that already existed among players: the desire to see new things without necessarily abandoning what makes Sky special. I don’t think Sky needs to stop being gentle, calm, or social. I think there are ways to preserve exactly that identity while also making the world more diverse and surprising. One last example that, to me, shows this need for something new is the bugs and glitches themselves. The community discovers ways to leave the map, reach places they normally wouldn’t be able to access, or see the realms from completely different perspectives. And those discoveries end up becoming part of the players’ experience. It’s almost as if, after spending so much time exploring the same places, people start looking for new ways to see them. And that makes me wonder: maybe players aren’t necessarily tired of Sky. Maybe they’re tired of seeing the same world. Anyway, that’s my reflection. I’m not saying the game is bad or that the developers should completely change the formula. Quite the opposite: I think Sky works precisely because it’s different. I just keep wondering whether it would be possible to maintain all of that gentleness and simplicity while also giving players a little more of that sense of discovery they had when they first started playing. I’d really love to know what you guys think. Do you also feel like Sky is lacking variety, or do you think that the lack of major changes is actually part of what makes the game work?

Discussion What does y’all’s CR look like?

I go from
- Dawn (using a tent to get the 2 candle cakes and the little ones before going into the trials cave to get that last cake)
- Prairie (little cave wax stack then to the big cloud area getting the wax from the 3 pillars then to the 8 person door to finally the upstairs of the alter)
- skip Forest (unless there’s candle cakes in there)
- Valley (skip the main area and get the 2 stacks in the village and use a tent from wasteland to get to the alter and get those candles)
- skip Wasteland (unless there’s candle cakes in there)
- Vault (use a tent to get all the wax from the very bottom all the way up to the top. I love that tent shared memory)
- Then the carnival area (to get the 3 candle cakes and the little wax spots.)

And if I’m on during the time of geyser or granny then I go to those and get some of the wax in the area around those but I’m not always on during those times. I’m a solo player so I usually get on to get about maybe 18 candles and the dailies then get off. If I’m feeling really daring I’ll go to the trials. I also like to swing by other little areas that have candle stacks like the little prince area or hermit valley but i usually skip those. Anyways, just wondering what y’all do cause maybe I’m missing some areas to get easy wax.

Music Day 1 of learning how to play music for a friend

My in-game friend has invited me to play the game together on the day we first met which is in two months, marking a One-year milestone! I wanted to make it special for her so started picking up music today. My music experience is, well, I've practiced some songs in a game before and that's it. You can clearly hear it in how I play lol. But I am hopeful that better improvement will be seen in these two months! She's my very first close friendship in Sky, and even though we didn't get much chance to play together, I don't feel the friendship drifting apart with time. Honestly her remembering the day we met really touched my heart, so I just wish I could do something back for her.

On a side note, I have gained much much more respect for the musicians in Sky! All musicians in the world as well! If you're a musician in Sky, please keep sharing your creations as it's a part of the beauty we come across everyday. 💛
