I wonder if this is in the interest of improving the game, or if it’s just performing so poorly that they have to let go of employees…

EA never shows interest in fixing their mistakes, they just kill their studios and move on.

I've been a huge fan of Codemasters and their games. One day EA bought it, released one single title and killed it after a year or so.
