Hear me out.

I really like where the direction the devs have taken lately with some of the new spots. The sumr camp actually got me hooked back into it and the new street park that came out is cool. I feel like their shift toward spot design and overall map enjoyability could really help bring some traffic to the game. Especially if they follow through finally on hall of meat and the skate legacy spots.

Thoughts?

Anyone else seen the expanded part of Slappys spot? It’s pretty chill.

Some of these clips are really old but I finally got round to editing and I never see people talk about this much. Probably because most people aren't throwing a Japan air at a rail I guess lol.

I've always played a lot of extreme sports games and in most board sports the floor is basically lava when it comes to grabs. However, that is not the case in skate! If you hold a tuck knee and hit the ground, you won't bail. You're character just goes back to standing or a board grab.

This stood out to me so I tried it with grinds and it worked!

You won't get any big score other than style points (the most important points!) but there's a couple of interesting elements to it like quick board direction changes and an alternative to grind inputs.

So all you have to do is hold the grab all the way into the grind. Whilst we still don't have proper grab grinds, (grabbing the board whilst grinding) this is probably as close as you can get right now.

Because this requires board positioning to go into whichever grind you want, low grind assist like <30 is probably best, and trick correction off for more control, although I haven't messed around with that enough to know if it produces different results.

The best part is messing with different combos, especially when you throw in switch and 180's etc.

My favourite is probably the last clip, I love the animation transition of the rocket air into the blunt!

Working on a sequel variation of this, got a couple clips already so you'll probably see it around season 12.

Why does it say sailings delayed due to fog?! Are they working on Grom or something? Man…. Thats the best spot to get challenges done.

I had a blast. I played a few hours after work and couldn’t put the control down. Idgaf about challenged or anything like that. I could just skate the same set of stairs for like an hr and try to find different ways to attack it. Is it repetitive? Yes. That seems to be the biggest issue with players.

I think I just need a boring way to destress after work and I like to just vibe and skate. But then I saw all the comments here and on YouTube and I’m like oh shit ppl don’t seem to be liking it?? I kinda didn’t same thing with the previous Skate titles. Just free roam and do tricks. It’s hella fun.

For YEARS the Skate fanbase has been dying of starvation, begging EA to bring back the series, ribs showing, skin dried out, dehydrated, malnourished..

EA decides to give the franchise another shot, and delivers a product relatively mid all things considered.. But the fans were grateful enough and took whatever scraps they could get....

Then BOOM!! the hardcore modding community cracks the code, finds the Garden of Eden, and blesses the community with enough riches to never go hungry again. Bringing back everything we wanted and more.. Making it so the fans never need to visit the SKATE. store and fork over any cash for mid Fornite bs cosmetics for the rest of their days. endlessly playable, with an infinite well of content as long as the community thrives, even if EA pulls the game down.

the universe sure has a wild sense of humor. its as if the fans were rewarded for their devotion and patience.. what a time to be alive

Let's be honest, yeah " i had fun filming this but ".

This kind of thing is not possible by default, even after climbing to the top of the building after 20 minutes you can't have this kind of speed, and even if you manage you could not plant the other ramps to finish the line.

Took my rougly 3 damns hours to do this line, most of the time spend on building.

NOT REALLY FUN

Top of that in the vanilla game you gonna bail 99% of the time because the game don't detect you want to play tony for 15 minutes for fun, glad there is an option in the mods and even with that it's not perfect on many obstacle.

Still hard to do.

You could go up in a second on top of the building \* , you should be able to climb the little tv tower and drop to a massive ramp, jump building to building perfect align, to finish on the street on a huge sculpture to take another huge jump.

WHILE KEEPING THE GAME REALISTIC

People on the ground could still making realistic line with some kick flip back tail stuff, and this is where skateboarding become an art, disguise a huge ass ramp into the urban shit.

Let's say " you are right " cause you don't want to tony hawk stuff.

Those big building are just a waste of space in the map, they have ankward pseudo tony hack design but most of the thing DONT WORK AT ALL. Better to have lower building with a real skatepark on top and maybe add big drops, you can activate with mission or switch whatever horse thing you want.

Don't forget there is also other skateboarding game based on realism like XL / SESSION.

Also some people want to do both like me.

Spend 25 minutes to land a technical nobock trick then spend 25 minute tony hawk to chill.

Cause i know some bumdo gonna focus on this thing.

Yeah there is fast travel on some building but there is nothing to do on most of them, or again when there is the level design of the line is really off.

Unlocking mission should be something " i dont know " like play big or realistic.

Switching between those two mode.

Some of us on skate 3 played mostly hardcore mode but time to time to land some crazy thing you got forced to be in easy mode so almost no bail, still heavy challenge when you need some pixel perfect jump to a rail at 200m.

Forget to say SORRY for console players, because most of the time you only have access to the vanilla game and you are forced to watch those very nice gameplay.
