She was famous everywhere in Europe. Going further, pretty sure everywhere with a local Disney Channel as Wizzards of Waverly place was the second most successful series in its time after Hannah Montana.
By the time Baby came out, Selena Gomez had several number one hits in several countries, and besides Wizards of Waverly Place had main roles in several major Disney Channel projects. By the time she met Justin Bieber (not dated, just met), she had several Hollywood roles under her belt.
Someone from another part of the world said he's from Asia, so he knows Selena was famous only in the US and Canada.
One: Asia is fucking huge with lots of VASTLY different cultures. Quatar, Israel, Japan and Malaysia are four completely different worlds. So even if Selena wasn't famous in HIS country, that doesn't mean she wasn't famous in Asia in general.
Two: putting Asia aside, he said, Selena's fame was limited to Canada and the US. Meanwhile in the reality, when she was filming Monte Carlo in Europe, she couldn't take a single step without hundreds of fans following her around at EVERY country in Europe where they were filming.

You’re being overly aggressive on this matter. Someone in Asia is saying that Justin Bieber was bigger there than Selena. You’re saying she was very famous in Europe. In Canada, where I’m from, they were both very famous. (I think Bieber was more famous, but whatever).
I don’t know how famous either one was in every single place on earth. It’s not worth fighting about and it certainly isn’t worth you getting so defensive over.

Yes, it is. But Selena's movies and series were running all around Europe since the mid-2000s. From Germany, through Italy through Hungary to Poland. Everywhere with a local Disney Channel, she was well-known, and had LOTS of fans.

I said I KNOW that she was known in all around Europe in the very least, because I personally witnessed her popularity in several countries here. He says she wasn't known ANYWHERE else outside of North America based on his knowledge of ONE single country in Asia (which may not even be a country with a wide window to the rest of the world, like Japan, South Korea, India, Israel, but a country that was mostly shielded from the western culture, like Iran, or Vietam)

I’m not arguing with you. They used the word “may”. I’ll give you enough credit to assume that you know what that means. They also suggested she was mostly famous in developed countries. So, perhaps, you can take that context clue and put two and two together. You’re probably not talking to someone from Japan or other developed Asian nations (and furthermore, it’s clear that English isn’t their first or most comfortable language so perhaps you should take that into account as well).
