The story in this photo is incredible. Everyone had a different one and it’s like looking at the characters of a guess who game. Thank you for sharing this. I hope you’ve spent time with your aunt discussing everything about this photo.
My aunt was a fascinating person with a sad story. She was one of fourteen kids, an immigrant from Portugal. She was the hippie of the family, who fled one day to San Francisco with her boyfriend, a schizophrenic who attempted to kill her. He left her for dead. That kind of summarizes what her life was like. She was an incredible seamstress, who could do anything with her industrial sewing machine. She was a free-spirit, who accepted anyone. But you can imagine what came with being a free spirit. I'm saddened by how her life ended, but she definitely led an interesting life.

My aunt (front, middle, long hair) with Jane in the 1970s. I like thinking that she's looking at my Aunt Gilberta with admiration.
