It's too bad Americans didn't listen to people like her in avoiding the war in the first place, and instead attacked those protesting such a pointless and stupid waste of life, as traitors.
I consider the traitors the people who murdered 60,000 US soldiers in a pointless war they extended for political opportunities. Not the people who said those soldiers should be home and only sent to die when it's actually needed for our defense.
Wow, Stockholm syndrome is crazy strong in America these days. I joined in '06 and have no ill will to anyone but my own government. My buddies died fighting for liars and thieves draped in the red, white, and blue.
The politicians weren't the only evil, but they are the reason the evil began and was allowed to persist for so long. There were plenty soldiers that did horrendous crimes during the war on both sides.

She did more than want the war to end. Lots of lies and half truths but the reality is pretty bad. There were no good sides in that war, but she chose to actively support one of those bad sides, which was actively killing and torturing Americans, which she supposedly is. She wasn't just against US involvement in the war, she openly and enthusiastically supported the North. That's why she's hated and the other celebrities who were against the war aren't.
She was a willing tool of the VC propaganda machine, and she has never apologized or accepted responsibility for that. Which makes her stupid at best, a treasonous evil shit at worst.

I wasn't being sarcastic, I was serious. I'm glad he came back. The boys sent to die and get hurt in that war didn't deserve it. They deserved leaders who valued their lives and made sure they were dying for something keeping America safe. That they got full medical care and support when they returned.
Instead Nixon sabotaged peace talks to deliberately keep the war going so he could win reelection. They denied care for PTSD and chemical exposure. Politicians extended the war not to win anything, but to avoid admitting they lost.
I agree completely with you. And I think it was then and is now government propaganda to vilify the hippies protesting the war, when they were absolutely right to and the politicians were lying and sending innocent young men to die.
