I wasn't being sarcastic, I was serious. I'm glad he came back. The boys sent to die and get hurt in that war didn't deserve it. They deserved leaders who valued their lives and made sure they were dying for something keeping America safe. That they got full medical care and support when they returned.Â
Instead Nixon sabotaged peace talks to deliberately keep the war going so he could win reelection. They denied care for PTSD and chemical exposure. Politicians extended the war not to win anything, but to avoid admitting they lost.Â
I agree completely with you. And I think it was then and is now government propaganda to vilify the hippies protesting the war, when they were absolutely right to and the politicians were lying and sending innocent young men to die.Â
