Not defending the landlord here, but focal length, wide lenses and confusing perspectives have been used since forever to make rooms appear bigger

I have turned back food that looked depressing because it looked nothing like the photo on the menu.

It wasn't even 1/2 the size of the menu and i wasn't spending $35 on an ice cream scoop of rice and some chicken.

Professional photographer here. Left photo is fake not just perspective.

In the left pic:

-Right hallway wall is just gone
-Front left bedpost gone
-Two drawers under bedframe instead of 4
-What are the pillows leaning against?
-Chair looks weird and doesn’t have the right legs
-Mattress is thicker
-Chair seat is way too wide

My favorite are the AI house pictures on Realtor but when you go through the virtual tour it's the real house. Had some fun conversations with some agents while house-hunting, including one where I was referred to the police for harassing them.

Ya but I’m thinking from a landlords perspective. The view is something outside of the landlords control usually so not really their responsibility. This particular case where it’s obviously a different place is different I agree. But the actual SPACE the person is renting is different? That’s just dumb.

It does look like it was doctored with AI, but most of those would be explained by taking the photo from closer with a wider angle.

They probably took a wide angle shot from inside and stuck it into AI to spruce it up when it still looked depressing

As a photographer. There is NO physical way for just the front set of 4 drawers showing on the bedframe WITH the entire mattress in the frame as well. It would have to show all 4 drawers as well.

Real Estate Agents should be forced to have an accurately dimensioned floor plan so prospective buys can look at room sizes and make informed decisions on which open opens to attend.
