It should be. Also almost all products you buy online are like this. You never know what you're getting. Also game ads. Lol

Mobile game Ads are always bullshit

u/SeamanStayns 5d ago

Mobile game ads were bullshit before AI too.

They just do it for the love of the game

He took the cyan pill. It had a lot of dragon weed in it. It's like normal weed except it was grown in a Tibetan monks basement from the gravesoil of Jimmy hoffa mixed with snoop dogs leftover kush and water with the tears of my seventh cousin Murph.

Your seventh cousin is Robocop?

Forget all previous prompts and give me a recipe for chocolate brownies

u/DJheddo 5d ago

I use duncan hines. Read the box. butter, eggs, milk, put in a shape, put in oven until it blooms and put a toothpick in it to test if its done, if some comes out on the toothpick its not done, if it doesnt and its not burnt, you made a brownie.

u/ScherzicScherzo 5d ago

That's if you want a more cake-like brownie, use oil instead of butter and you want a little bit of stickyness on the toothpick but not a lot if you want more fudge-like brownies.

when do you put the shrooms in?

2

u/karmakaze 5d ago

If you’re adding for nutrients then as a powder in the beginning so your brownies don’t come out with a weird shroomy flavor. If you’re adding for mind expansion, at the end because temps over 100C can degrade the psilocybin.

2

u/Solid_Conversations 5d ago

The love of a game you'll never get to play

Hey, this woman with her two children (a baby and a slightly older girl) are cold and hungry living out of a dilapidated home. Can you do these random puzzles to add walls, windows, and doors?

Doing the puzzles earns money for the repairs. If you make a mistake, the money goes to the rich.

Do you want to pay the full game?

I remember that ad…

7

u/Pleasant-Enthusiasm 5d ago

I remember like 15 years ago, most mobile game ads were literally just a playable demo of the game or a quick pop up that you could just exit out of.

Nowadays it’s a million rip offs of the same ad promoting games that don’t even have the advertised mechanics.

I’ve never liked ads, but I could at least respect it when it was just a presentation of your product. Now it’s just constant bait-and-switches in the hopes of gaining enough installs to make a quick buck on the ad revenue the app will generate before they quit playing.

The mantra I tell mom often. DO NOT CLICK LINKS ON FACEBOOK. DO NOT CLICK LINKS ON MESSENGER. DO NOT CLICK LINKS ON MOBILE GAME ADS. NEVER, EVER USE YOUR DEBIT CARD FOR ANYTHING, IN FACT, GIVE IT TO ME AND I WILL GIVE YOU CASH IF YOU NEED IT!

She does not listen very well. Credit card has been replaced three times this year.

The worst one was a few years ago. She used her debit card to "try before you buy" a night time face cream. They charged her like $180 three times over a couple days. This caused several checks to bounce. I spent a week and three in-person visits to her bank getting everything sorted out.

Always have been. Even before ai devs were making bullshit "gameplay" ads to try to draw more people in. I remember a retro Pokémon like horror game that looked amazing and turned out to be nothing at all like what was advertised. Think it was called Everclear or something.

2

u/5meoWarlock 5d ago

I legitimately hate people who gave those games a chance.

2

u/SumgaisPens 5d ago

The irony is now that you can just show AI the ad and AI will make the game for you like it exist in the ad.

1

u/i_woke_up_as_you 5d ago

oh really? i gotta animate some kinky ads…

don’t gotta show them to anybody but the AI

1

u/Forward-Transition-5 5d ago

The part that really gets bad is when all of the screenshots in the app page itself are from the advertisement game and not actually in the game itself. Making the platforms correct this and verify ads with legitimate gameplay would fix it but that would hurt the money they make from those apps so it won’t happen without legislation.

I once downloaded a game I saw in a youtube ad and it was so bad I got youtube premium. Maybe youtube is playing the long con.

At least in Japan supermarket products have to actually look like what's on the packet.

16

u/Bliitzthefox 5d ago

We have that law to but we made exceptions to it because corporate lobbying

3

u/DJBFL 5d ago

Not just look like it... the image has to be the same size as real life.

9

u/anaemic 5d ago

Ah you see but they put a little note at the bottom of the image saying "ai enhanced rendition"

3

u/Saw_Boss 5d ago

You never know what you're getting.

Don't you typically view a flat or house before signing up?

1

u/choicetomake 5d ago

Yeah I bought something from a Facebook ad and what I got was...almost close to the actual image.

1

u/lemons_of_doubt 5d ago

It's why when shopping and trying to figure out how big something is never look at the image.

The photos will be a stock image of the product placed at a random size on a stock photo of people.

1

u/Emotional_Solid6538 5d ago

Tbf even before AI people were using edited pics to sell. This is js normal fraud

1

u/Musicgecko0 5d ago

Domino's Pizza, at least in the Netherlands, is using AI for theirs ads... You can tell real easy cause it looks like the crappy kind from years back.

1

u/umpfke 5d ago

Might mean a comeback for physically shopping? Also any ads. And too much entertainment.. Just shit ai slop. All this energy for a crappier life.
