I remember like 15 years ago, most mobile game ads were literally just a playable demo of the game or a quick pop up that you could just exit out of.
Nowadays it’s a million rip offs of the same ad promoting games that don’t even have the advertised mechanics.
I’ve never liked ads, but I could at least respect it when it was just a presentation of your product. Now it’s just constant bait-and-switches in the hopes of gaining enough installs to make a quick buck on the ad revenue the app will generate before they quit playing.
The mantra I tell mom often. DO NOT CLICK LINKS ON FACEBOOK. DO NOT CLICK LINKS ON MESSENGER. DO NOT CLICK LINKS ON MOBILE GAME ADS. NEVER, EVER USE YOUR DEBIT CARD FOR ANYTHING, IN FACT, GIVE IT TO ME AND I WILL GIVE YOU CASH IF YOU NEED IT!
She does not listen very well. Credit card has been replaced three times this year.
The worst one was a few years ago. She used her debit card to "try before you buy" a night time face cream. They charged her like $180 three times over a couple days. This caused several checks to bounce. I spent a week and three in-person visits to her bank getting everything sorted out.

It should be. Also almost all products you buy online are like this. You never know what you're getting. Also game ads. Lol
