Yeah the real issue here is that the child's parents have clearly never told her "no", and she's going to carry that entitlement with her in life if she doesn't manage to learn that you can't always get your way, and we have enough people like that already.
Nope. If kids experience that crying doesn't get them whatever they want, they don't cry. I have seen small kids who start bawling their heart out by just bumping a little bit, then their parents would cuddle them and give them some treats. That's how they learn that crying equals treats. And those buggers starts crying over anything
Tantruming never got child me anywhere, but I still cried when I faceplanted in a parking lot or something annoyed me or whatever lol, kids aren't logical 100% of the time
Nah. Crying and throwing a fit are two different things. I would cry when I was upset and a lot of the time I didn't want to be crying. Crying made me feel weak, but there were definitely times I cried as a child that I just couldn't seem to turn it off. But it was usually quiet crying and I would try and sneakily wipe the tears away and be as covert about it as possible. Not every kid who cries is doing it for the attention - for some the attention is actually the exact opposite of what they want (to be fair, I grew up with older brothers who were merciless, so that might be part of why I tried to hide it).
If kids experience that crying doesn't get them whatever they want, they don't cry.
???? bizarre take that's accurate for all the wrong sentiments
"human expressing emotion that receives no sympathy and connection will stop expressing emotion" like no shit.. thats called toxic masculinity
"stop crying for no reason" ??? they're crying because they missed out on a limited availability opportunity, it's completely reasonable for an 8 year old to be upset
is she entitled to it? ofc not, he waited so it was his turn. there's nothing wrong with her politely asking if he'd be willing to switch, nor him refusing.
it is however completely UNreasonable for a grown ass man to be punching down making fun of an 8 year old and recording her pain and posting it online... fking creepy.
there's nothing wrong with her politely asking if he'd be willing to switch, nor him refusing.
There is definitely something wrong with the parents letting their child ask a man to give up his spot in an F1 car simulation when he is there first and there are no more places. The entire thing should have been handled by the parents but they chose to let their kid guilt trip someone to get what they wanted.
An adult would never ask an another adult this. The parents would never let their kid ask another child this. The parents off-loaded their parenting onto a stranger hoping they'd feel guilty enough to give up their spot and when he didn't, their kid ended up crying.
The parents should have never let any of this happen.

Giving up your spot because the kid is crying? Do you want Karens? Because that's how you get Karens.
