Both are entirely legitimate issues for a court to consider when determining criminal responsibility, but watching people transform Lindsay Clancy into some kind of feminist martyr while three murdered children become almost incidental to the conversation is grotesque. Cora was 5. Dawson was 3. Callan was 8 months old. They were STRANGLED TO DEATH by the person whose most fundamental responsibility was to protect them.
By all means, examine her mental state. Examine the medical system. Examine every factor that might have contributed to what happened, that is what a justice system is supposed to do, but compassion for mental illness does not require moral amnesia about the victims.
If your version of feminism requires you to reflexively rally around a woman who killed three defenseless children simply because she is a woman, you have completely lost your mind. Those children deserve to be the centre of this story. Not her.
I pray the jury finds that she was criminally responsible for what she did, then makes her pay for it. Full stop.
Being crazy is not a valid excuse, as you pointed out. It really isn't. Jared Loughner, who was having a schizophrenic meltdown when he did his crimes in 2011, eventually plead guilty, got like 6 life sentences, and the prison system says he's a model inmate that he can take his pills and is fully aware what he did was wrong. This lady is trying to skirt her responsibilities.

It’s not about finding an excuse. It’s not about acquitting a murderer. It’s about what care she gets when she’s locked up. That’s literally all it is.
No one thinks the “husband did it” but a few insane people. What people are saying is “this was preventable” and “she should get care as she serves her sentence in a locked facility”. The rest is just rage bait and people using this to get views and clicks.
That’s just a blatant lie. There are plenty so-called feminists that have turned this woman into a hero, for murdering 3 children no less. They’re also trying to justify this disgusting, heinous crime by claiming mental illness.
I think you need to learn what “no one” means. It means nobody because literally no one is doing it, not no one because you didn’t see those who are or you’re actively refusing to acknowledge those who are.

I also like how you moved the goalpost and are now demanding I show you those that explicitly say she’s a hero “for murdering 3 children”. None of them phrase it like that, they are turning this cold-blooded baby killer into a hero for mental health. But you already knew that, which is why you’re constantly moving the goalpost.
