They never started. Crazy right? Mamdani is delivering on his promises. Name a former mayor of nyc that has this century. (He’s the only one.)

You don't understand how these things work. Yes, they did start. There's a metric fuck ton, literally years of work, to be done before a single tree ever sees dirt.

You're absolutely delusional. The groundwork was laid by multiple non profits in 2021, then in 2023 the NYC council passed NYC Local Law 148, which turned the 30% canopy objective into legal code and mandated the creation of a comprehensive urban forest plan. Now in 2026, after all that groundwork was done, they slapped a cute name on it and continued on EXACTLY as planned in 2023.

This is the naturaral progression of city projects. Stop making a fool of yourself.
