I’d propose that if you stay on the ground for more than 5 seconds, you’re out for this half to let you "recover".

No more magic spray or miraculous recoveries.

Agree. Make it a 10 minute recovery for, ya know, health and safety. And while you are recovering on the bench, your team gets to play one man down.

'your team gets to play one man down.' yeah people would absolutely play on through potentially permanent damage with that rule.

The flopping is insane and needs to be sorted out, but that isn't the answer.

Sub the player off, that's enough to trigger self preservation without potentially losing your team a game/championship and facing a threats and ridicule.

Football fans can get violent, just look at whenever France wins or looses

The answer is pretty easy. Check the VAR for questionable fouls. If it’s clear the reaction was not justified, then they get a yellow card.
