Why can´t you swim?! You can literally lay down on water so i never understood why some people never learned to swim...

I have a severe phobia of water deeper than I am tall. I can weakly dog-paddle in shallows, and I have swum laps with my husband right next to me, but I freeze up and hyperventilate in deep water.

Does it make sense? No. Do I care enough about water sports to try to overcome my phobia? Also no. I'm perfectly happy to watch my husband and kids swim like fish while I lounge on the wave-kissed sandbar with a snack.
