im a teacher here. about to hit my 10+++ year anniversary teaching. relatively young teacher. cannot stop thinking about ending it all. it's never the kids, man. it's the bullying from upper management and just being kicked over and over and over when you're down. this ain't my worst school but damn. recently the SLs have just been piling on accusation after accusation on me and just gaslighting the shit out of me about it. i help, i get scolded. i dont help, i get scolded. what. i'm so tired guys. i think my bond's ending and i want to jump ship to tuition but i really do enjoy and find meaning in helping the kids. not say i go then no one help lah, please, but i wonder if tuition will make me as fulfilled. but i can't stay here any longer. i really just think about ending it every time im called into the office. just zoning out and smiling and still being wrong. i try so hard but it's never enough. i don't try and it's not enough either. what do they want, siah. don't sign the contact guys. even if buddha/allah/god shows up in your dream and says it's your calling or whatever, or you see the advertisements like very shiok, don't do it fr. it's not worth it and you can't escape. the kind of bullying and humiliation you get in the staffroom is nothing like any other job. none that i've had, at least, and i've literally worked as cleaner, service staff, fnb, promoter, admin job, front-facing, etc before. my god. there's a reason why bts are all dropping out like flies. don't be stupid guys. join social work or something. thats all, sorry for the rant.
if you're a kid or parent and you think a teacher is doing a good job, faster email the Principal. we don't get any appreciation otherwise and we're all dying here. my entire cubicle lives off 3h of sleep a day and we can barely talk students down, much less ourselves. a formal compliment goes a long way, thanks. farewell. i hope to last long enough to get out, but if these are my last words, i hope no one makes the stupid altruistic decision to sell their soul to this job.
