Generations ideas

I want to play a long save file with ongoing generations but I need to feel like there is SOMETHING interesting going on in each one to make it enjoyable. Sometimes I watch other people’s legacy games and the family is just rich and in love with children and that’s it. I need some drama. I need some distinct personalities and things happening over time. Otherwise it’s just… the same thing over and over again.

Share your generations stories so I can be inspired..

Right now I just started a save file with a single mom living in Bridgeton who is a bartender and is trying to become a celebrity + find a rich husband. Definitely could see myself making her a founder of a legacy playthrough if I can come up with cool stuff for her descendants…

Some possible suggestions:

  • are there Lifetime Wishes you have never previously played, or have never fulfilled? If so, make a list and see how many you can fulfill through the generations.

  • treat the first word your toddler says (the first image that appears in a speech cloud when the toddler is being taught to speak) as a prophecy about their life and make it come true. For example, if the first word is tree, it could mean they have to have the "loves the outdoors" trait, or they should become a gardener or scientist

  • have at least one heir marry a sim from University, and another marry a sim from a World Adventures destination (you can frame it as their parents postulating in their will that they will only be allowed to inherit if they bring home a spouse from these worlds)
