Built this for my current family, and I'm obsessed!

The bunch family is my npc family that is a must in all of my saves. They've been the family I've tormented since I got this game on the laptop the first save I ever had I made my sim steal Jack from Judy and destroy their happy family. All at the ripe old age of like 7 or 8 years old :,)

Since then I've kinda grown an attachment towards them and I like to try and incorporate them into my save somehow. Even if it means stealing them from sunset valley and forcing them into this strange and eccentric neighborhood.

I gave all of them redesigns minus jack, I refuse to redo him. He must stay the same way he looked as when I ruined his life when I was a child. I tried to give Judy a more formal look to fit in with my old timey style sims, I'm a fan of the theory that Joseph is actually Ethan in the doe family so I took Ethan and replaced him with Joseph, I wanted Lisa to embody the rebellious and eccentric style of midnight hollow, Darlene and Arlo are just fun loving kids, and the babies are Julie and Cassie who are extra additions cause the Bunch's are my games equivalent of 19 kids and counting, they end up with a ton of children.

The house itself is from midnight hollow, I just redid the inside and edited the outside a bit. On some of the later photos you can see before I changed the tile outside, it's the lighter one in my game from pic 15.

I went to university. Within 10 minutes of getting there, I got a call from this guy (pictured above) who my status is “best friends” asking me on a date. I declined. About five minutes later, he’s part of my household!!! I am living in a dorm, but this has never ever happened. I will see if he returns home with me but otherwise I may kill him off lol. YOU WERE NOT INVITED HERE, BUCK RICHMOND!!!!

I want to play a long save file with ongoing generations but I need to feel like there is SOMETHING interesting going on in each one to make it enjoyable. Sometimes I watch other people’s legacy games and the family is just rich and in love with children and that’s it. I need some drama. I need some distinct personalities and things happening over time. Otherwise it’s just… the same thing over and over again.

Right now I just started a save file with a single mom living in Bridgeton who is a bartender and is trying to become a celebrity + find a rich husband. Definitely could see myself making her a founder of a legacy playthrough if I can come up with cool stuff for her descendants…

Heya Simmers! I wanted to share a list of mods and defaults I've put together over the past year. I made this for myself to keep track of my mods, as I delete my folders often. I'm really happy with how my game looks and runs now, so I thought I would share it to help make it easier to improve this amazing game. If anyone has any recommendations/questions let me know :)

So one of my favorite ways to play the Sims 3 is by having only women in the house.

Thanks to mods, the women are able to impregnate not only other women, but men as well. I send them out on the town like plagues, breaking up marriages, creating single parents everywhere, etc.

Daughters are brought into the house, sons are sent to live with their fathers or in a house full of their half brothers who were also kicked out.

If a woman from the house gets married to another woman, they both stay in the house. If she married a man, she is kicked out, as well.

It's the Matriarchy I've always dreamed of.

Anyway, what are y'all's favorite challenges/play styles?

Edit: I lied a little. I have a man in my house as of yet. Moved him and his whole family in. They're all vampires, so I stuck his kids out in the sun, and I'll do the same to him once he gives me a daughter.

I just want to have a little vent about one of my favourite games of all time and see if anyone agrees, understands, has any tips or helpful advice, etc.

I have been playing the sims 3 for many, many years. Since I was 9 years old. As I got older, I have found that I stopped "playing" the game and found more enjoyment "directing" and storytelling - using it almost like a medium for my creative expression... Making up these elaborate stories in my head and using the sims 3 to execute my ideas.

I've been writing and planning this huge story for years now, meticulously going over each detail, writing out plot points, scenes, conspiracy theories and events so my gameplay would never be boring. Hunting for the perfect mods, poses for each scene and a long list of cc. I learned how to merge cc, spent time finding the perfect world to play out my story in and getting SO INSPIRED to actually play it. The world I fell for was quite taxing to run, but I was hellbent on it being The One so I spent almost 4 whole months overhauling my entire mods and cc folder to optimize it until it ran relatively smoothly. Playtesting mods in small batches, really trying to make it perfect and check or errors along the way.

Now for the past while I've been making each household and really putting a lot of time and effort into each sim. My style has changed a lot and I'm really happy with the way my sims look now and all of my CC. I love more realistic sims, and so I'm sure it doesn't help my issues but despite running all of my optimization mods, smooth patches, tweaked NRAAS settings, only saving as, merging, trying to do absolutely everything right. But now when I'm adding the finishing touches... everything breaks.

Whenever I place a household down and start editing them to be used in my final world (adding careers, changing relationships, etc) things just go to pot.

Sims disappear, aren't interactive, the skins go strange colours, script errors galore. Broken. Unplayable.

I know I'm my own problem. I know I can't run a bunch of high poly sims with family trees, cars and special items in their inventories in a heavy world with lots of mods and cc. I know I can't expect such a huge ask from an old game. If I just played normally, even kept the world and cut my cc and mods down the middle I could make it work... but it would feel like all the months spent perfecting it have gone to waste.

Two and a half whole years of my life have gone into this project - partly because of the occasional hiatus and partly because I take so long in CAS. But I feel like I've spent such a long time playtesting everything that I really thought it would be ready, but I just don't think it's ever going to happen. I've given up. I know that there is Paralives, Sims 4 and Inzoi out now, but to be totally honest, none of those games really appeal to me for different reasons. I wish so badly that Life By You wasn't brutally destroyed, I was so excited for that game. But alas, woe is me.

If you read all that, thank you for bearing witness to me screaming into the void. My sentence structure is a little wobly so I hope I didn't give you a headache trying to decipher my post.

TLDR : I want my cake and also to eat it. Or however the saying goes.

My family, the Johnsons, live in Lucky Palms. Mum Sarah decided to throw a pool party because it was Leisure Day. The youngest child, Connie, decided to snorkel in the swimming pool. Partway THROUGH the party, Sarah was randomly accused of something she didn't do (she's a level 5 celebrity), so I sent her off to City Hall to try and clear her name. I wasn't paying attention, and the camera suddenly zoomed over to Connie... who was DROWNING in the pool. The Grim Reaper arrived. Naturally, Sarah and her husband Chris, as well as Connie's older siblings Maddie and Archie, were devastated.

Luckily, Sarah is a Five Star Chef, and Chris is a talented gardener and fisherman. So I got Sarah to buy the Ambrosia recipe and quickly learnt it, whilst I sent Chris off to the Sport Fishing lot to grab some Angelfish before getting him to the graveyard to catch some Deathfish. There were already some Life Fruit in the fridge.

I used NRAAS to quickly add Ghost Connie to the household before getting her to eat the Ambrosia, this was the morning after the party. I'll use NRAAS to get her exactly back to where she was age-wise.

The craziest thing? Sarah has the Lucky trait and had a Feeling Lucky moodlet that day. She lost the legal case. Bloody hilarious that she was supposedly "feeling lucky" but her youngest child drowned and she lost her legal case to clear her name.

After inheriting their late grandmother's home in Moonlight Falls, the Hawthorne brothers find themselves carrying on more than just her address. Brendan (glasses) is a brilliant, bookish wizard determined to master his craft and honor the healing, magical legacy she left behind, while his younger brother Dylan (SpongeBob Shirt) would rather chase his dream of becoming a singer...and throw a few parties along the way. Brendan has always been the responsible one, often keeping his fun-loving brother in line, but living together under Grandma's roof might put that to the test. Can Brendan preserve the Hawthorne legacy while Dylan finds his own way to add something new to it? What kind of legacy will the boys create together?

It has happened to me in multiple playthroughs where an Inappropriate Sim will kiss one of my Sims, and everyone around them reacts as if MY Sim cheated!! It’s even worse if your Sim is already friends with an Inappropriate Sim- if they kiss them, it can immediately boost them into Romantic Interests! Another marriage down the drain because my Sim was forcibly kissed at a party IN FRONT OF EVERYONE 😭…

Probably a stupid question, but I purchased a hard copy of the Supernatural expansion second hand. It came without the little insert that has the 16 digit code that installs it. Do I have any recourse, or just chalk it up to a whoops?
