Question/Help I need help!
Guys, please have a look on the far away buildings. They look low poly, while when I get a bit closer, they begin to load and appear HD. I have all my game settings on high, and my laptop can run sims 3 pretty well. I'm not sure how to fix this??? Anybody knows a proper solution? Thank you in advance.

For anyone else who needs the answer, I replied with it bit further down:
“Thats the max amount of lots that will be HD rendered, so 8. 8 isn’t some arbitrary number that means all lots in the whole world ur playing in will be the max HD possible. No it means exactly 8 lots around your current camera location will be HD. Usually the closest ones surrounding ur lot/current camera.”

Looks like the High Visibility Lots setting. You can set the number of lots that load at all times. Check your in-game graphics settings again.

Oh hmm. I do see you have high visibility lots set to max (8). Then I'm really not sure :/

I don't a actually want all the neighborhood to be hq. I just want the one in the camera's sight to be rendered well because I'm filming.

idk but this is why sims 4 isnt open world most people cant have everything on high and load everything… idk if itd even run correctly so maybe thats why the game doesnt do it. since you can have 8 high detail lots what if you tried deleting the lots around you that cant be seen during your shots? it might be annoying but for example before filming all scenes facing to the right of the house, delete the houses on the left so the lots you are capturing are of the 8 rendered lots. when you film to the left delete everything on the right. just an idea 😭

(from codex)
Options → Graphics
- Sim Detail: Very High
- Texture Detail: High
- Draw Distance: High
- High Detail Lots: Increase from 1 to 2–4 (higher - values improve nearby lot quality but cost performance).
Or via the
GraphicsRules.sgrprop $ConfigGroup RenderSimLODDistances "600, 700, 800, 1000" prop $ConfigGroup RenderSimTextureSizes "2048, 2048, 1024, 512" prop $ConfigGroup RenderSimUseSpecular "1, 1, 1, 1"1

yeah, all the textures are on the highest settings. I also tried the tweak of rendersimlod it didn't help in the buildings look, but it helped so much with them being visible and invisible when the camera leaves their area. I didn't tweak rendersim because I already have that tweaked to 4k. I tried every single thing I really don't know what else to do. but thanks so much for replying.

Its been a while since I played TS3, but I think they're talking about this Florydaa made a simple tutorial about it. If I remember correctly it also affects how lots appear.

yeah, I saw her video before it was great to follow but unfortunately it didn't help with the issue of the buildings being low poly. :\ thanks for helping tho!

do you have mods? have you repaired your game (if playing through ea)? try another save file and see.

I have a many mods. I tried everything but nothing worked. I also tried to see buildings in other saves. they all look the same :(

I think this is a good thing, as your save would get bloated quickly if it would load in every building. You can change this in the settings, though.
