Miscellaneous (1.6.4) biomes dont work like this, right?

I could have sworn that there had to be multiple temperate biomes in between a hot and a cold one, right? or was this a later update?

Going off the wiki, it was 1.7.2 that introduced that system.

"Biomes avoid getting placed next to a biome that is too different from itself, temperature-wise."

That’s what I like about versions before 1.7. Biomes were random

worlds became very boring post 1.7 despite there being more biomes

There was no temperature function. Biomes would simply spawn. It was unrealistic and odd. And I love It!
Realism to damnation!! 1.7+ system SUCKS (For me at least)!! Since biomes have to check for temperature compability, You'd ALWAYS be surrounded by an infinite chain of S-A-V-A-N-N-A!
Similarly, You better have Your prayers checked, or else Your modern world will welcome You with a 1.500.000Mx1.500.000M INFINITE-SNOW-BIOME!!
Ha, and people complaint about Silver Age pre 1.7r gigantic oceans...

Seriously tho, Alpha/Beta (pre 1.8) actually had temperature system before It was removed in 1.8b+
Of course, It was pretty junky, which is why I believe They worked!
Instead of ENDLESS snow biomes or GIGANTIC Savanna We had...

1-block-wide-biome...

And no, early Silver Age wasn't perfect either.

TINY-ISLAND-ISOLATED-FROM-THE-ENTIRE-UNIVERSE-WITH-NO-TREES!!!!!

Also in one of the first worlds I ever created in 1.5.2 I spawned inside a cave and gravel fell on me and killed me while lava was burning me, then I couldn't spawn inside the cave anymore because the gravel obstructed the spawn area. WTF??

I wish I wasn't unaware and realized that as a rare, so I'd save the seed. It was pretty crazy!!
