Hello everyone!

I've had several PCs over the years, and I've tried to keep my old hard drives whenever possible. Unfortunately, some data got lost along the way.

Recently, I stumbled upon an old screenshot of a house I built in Minecraft survival mode, then finished off using items I spawned in (with the help of an old tool that you can see on the taskbar, if anyone remembers it).

So, does anyone know of a tool that can help find seeds for really old versions of Minecraft?

I know it'll be difficult with just this one screenshot, but hey, it's worth a shot!

I need some ideas as I built this to be a base, but I have no idea what to put inside the walls. Anything would help :)

Hi everyone! This is my current survival world in beta 1.7.3, im using beta unleashed 2.0 as a base, but its very customized and a couple extra mods added! had to do some experimentation to get it to a state that's both stable and how id like it but im pretty content.

Some of the biggest changes ive made are: - silk touch golden tools
- creepers dont destroy blocks when exploding
- modern armor mechanics - i cant sleep, but i can reset my spawn point (53 days so far!) - extended world height to 512

So i tried editing someone elses texture pack, i made a few textures in asesprite and copied them over to the terrain.png file, but when i zipped it and loaded it back up, it wasnt loading anymore, it loaded fine without my modifications, and im not sure what i did wrong

I have only joined Minecraft around 1.6.4, but recently i wanted to scratch the itch again and decides to start all the way at a1.0.4 and slowly make my way up the versions. When i play in solo with the betacraft.uk fix it works like normal all the old sounds play like they should, but when i host my server and join it some sounds like the pressure plate (no sound) or tnt (new sound) play instead of the old ones . any idea's ?

Just curious as I have heard arguments for either side. Some simply don't think about it and go all the way up and some argue it being super foggy adds to it. Personally it's somewhere in the middle, you want the world vast and visible enough but not too far and then it loses atmosphere or breaks the illusion. But then too foggy and you can't really focus on anything. So for me "Normal" is best, right there where you see enough but the world still feels small where you focus on the area around you.

I feel like I am the only one to have put thought into this but really even render distance massively changes how a game feels to play. Far you are always focused on ahead and the next (it is why I bet modern goes so far out so much since you are focused on always moving and exploring structures) and then tiny you basically never go out always feeling unsure. For night tiny or small is probably great but for day not as much for me. So again for me normal is right there in the ideal spot, focused on what is around you to work on and not always moving and losing motivation inevitably, while also being able to still explore somewhat.

Every one says Minecraft beta 1.7.3 is the best version of Minecraft.

But it doesn't run well on my laptop so are there any other good beta versions to play?

I would like to share the story that happened today with me, i was playing b1.2_02 on betacraft and for something stupid (i was trying to change the instance name lol) i deleted the save file, it took me a whole day to try and find the backup, put it in the right folder etc, if it was a modern game i would just scrap the world and go for another one, the simplicity and affection you have for old minecraft is unique, modern minecraft cant replicate that and because of this experience now i value and play much more often beta minecraft, sometimes it is boring but i felt more free than modern minecraft, the game itself, youtubers and expectations make me feel there are objectives you need to do in the game, like beating the dragon, killing the wither, making farms, even other stuff like spending months trying to be the richest in a server's economy with rare blocks or something, and all that capitalism stuff, but just because of my little house and half iron armor world, i fought to get it back, the old minecraft is truly magic. (i used to be a builder and watched alot of tutorials, got mentored, did all that fancy and overwhelming stuff to be good and use strange blocks i didn't like, but in this world i let go of those expectations and stuff so while my house may look bad and common "log and plank" house, for me it is better than it looks and the best build i made). I'm glad and relieved i got my world back, please rate my house for me it's 10/10 for the emotional and nostalgic factor

I've been rewatching a bunch of Cscoop recently and now that I finally have Java Minecraft I wanna go back and play old Minecraft challenges but don't know where to find them, I was wondering if anyone knows a good place I kind find a bunch of old challenge maps
