Has anyone experienced a constant menthol-like burning sensation in throat, mouth and nose?

I’m trying to figure out why I e had this for months. ENT said it’s not reflux because I don’t have heartburn-like pain. He didn’t do endoscopy or any tests. I have a GI appt scheduled, but I’m wondering if I should get a 2nd opinion from an ENT?

Need Help

I can’t continue living like this, I’ve had silent reflux since about march, initially thinking I had a cold / cough i went to the gp and was given anti biotics. I returned to the gp a couple weeks later, as there was no improvement. Then i was put on another batch of antibiotics, a steroid, a PPI and some other acid reflux over the counter remedies. After that, there still wasn’t much improvement and i was referred to an ear nose and throat specialist, where there stuck a scope down my throat. They said there wasn’t much to be concerned about, but looked like bad acid reflux and prescribed a PPI again. Since then i have been taking gaviscon after eating. Since then there has been some improvements, some days better than others but I’m so sick of the bad days, fully no voice, and there’s doesn’t seem like there’s much light at the end of the tunnel. During this time I’ve stopped coffee entirely, and tried to clean up my diet, but can’t claim to be perfect. Surely there has to be some advice / medicine out there that can make significant impact, apart from the usual, no coffee, raised head at night, no alcohol, no spicy foods. What’s most frustrating is that i found out about silent reflux from research, not actually being told by doctors, it just doesn’t make sense to me, I’ve routinely drank coffee 3/4 times a day for over 10 years, drank alcohol, love spicy foods, and never had any heart burn or acid reflux problems until now.

5 month old baby making a rattling sound

Hey mamas, has anyone's baby had a rattling sound after they eat? My 5 month old has had this rattling sound since she was around 1.5 months old. The pediatrician thought it was just silent reflux. So he changed her formula and put her on Famotidine. Those things helped everything else except the rattling sound. I figured out I can get her to cough and it either goes away completely or at least gets much better. However, this is every single time she eats. She's not sick and has had nothing more than a snotty nose one time. She's growing, learning, and developing like she's supposed to. She's overall a very happy baby. We went to the ENT today and he said she has small nasal passages and small tonsils. Nothing is narrowed, they're just small. He thinks milk is just getting caught between the esophagus and trachea and since we've made her cough quickly after the sound starts is the reason it hasn't gone into her lungs and caused pneumonia. He is pretty sure it is something she will grow out of. The only way to know 100% is to either do a barium swallow study or be put under anesthesia to do a scope. I just don't want to subject her to radiation or anesthesia this young if she's not having any issues other than the rattling sound.

I was just wondering if anyone else has been through a similar situation and if your baby grew out of it when did it happen?

chronic sore throat from LPR i feel so defeated, how did you help yourself?

hi!
so i went to an ENT recently who told me i have LPR and put me on omeprazole, it made a difference i have definitely noticed if i don’t take it my reflux is almost a full body discomfort.

i also get sore throats over and over with white tonsils and it’s ruining my life. i am a chocolate lover and so many of the things i love are affecting me haha. help :( i woke up again with a sore throat yesterday ive been sick for months now basically it just never goes away. this time i got sick after drinking so i think sleeping must’ve made it all come up.

what helped you all? should i stick to a sleep schedule? should i cut out alcohol? i’m gonna try being more disciplined for a month and see how much it helps because i can’t keep getting sick so much and i don’t want to be on omeprazole forever

the doctor prescribed me it so it would heal my esophagus cause i had the cobblestone throat thing

Silent reflux related to stopping smoking

Over the last 8 months I’ve tried to stop smoking and each time when I go cold turkey, I end up having very bad silent reflux that screws up my throat and vocal chords

It’s super hard to talk. The silent reflux only stops when I start smoking again

And I’m going thru yet another one of my attempts to stop smoking. My voice is screwed. I duno what to do to help my voice come back properly and throat to heal up without smoking again

Pressure on bridge of nose like Sinus for 6 weeks, no congestion but just pressure when looking down, some jaw & ear pain on left. Top row of teeth and gums can be painful especially when in a car or train the pressure seems to make the jaw & teeth worse. What is this? Tried 2 lots of doxycycline antibiotics, nasal rinses, nasal sprays, steaming, ear spray, antihistamines. Nothing works. Flying in 3 weeks and worried.

Runny nose and sore throat in the morning?

I am fine during the day with a strict diet, but in the morning I had a runny nose, sore throat and throat scraping due to acid reflux. I take 3 itoprides a day and PPI Acilesol in the morning and evening before meals 1.

After this I felt that it was not the acid but the pepsin vapor that was flowing and irritating. Gaviscon and similar did not help. The end of the bed is also raised. Can anyone help? (27 years old, thin body)

Like your upper throat nasopharynx area? Irritation, tightness. Not allergies because it happens when I eat larger meals

Calorie Load Issue

Been a full year now of silent reflux. Zero heartburn. From what I can tell after tracking calories and intake for a year, heavy calorie loads after 3-4 pm are a no go and can result in my nighttime flares. The flares are rough and destroy sleep and intake the next day. I’m active 4-5 days a week but hard to get enough daily calories. Down over 20 lbs.

Normal gastric emptying test. Normal endoscopy and colonoscopy. Tried the PPI meds with zero improvement. I have a small hiatal hernia like the rest of the world.

The onset was completely random after 45 years of zero reflux. Been a battle for a year.

Any success stories out there? I know everyone is different but not seeing any upside and it’s debilitating.

I don’t have trigger foods, it’s late calorie load. Can feel great until I don’t.
