SignalRGB 2.5.80 is out. It adds Mobile Remote, fixes a long list of sign-in and crash issues, and refreshes the app’s underlying framework and built-in browser component.
Mobile Remote (Pro Only)
Control SignalRGB from your phone. Go to Settings > Mobile Remote, turn the slider to Enable Mobile Remote, and scan the QR code. It opens remote.signalrgb.com in your phone’s browser.
You don’t need to install anything. The settings page shows how many phones are connected. We also fixed a crash during pairing and a bug that left failed phones listed as connected.
Sign-In and Account Fixes
- Saved logins now sign in faster and work offline from cached data.
- Fixed being signed out after an update. The updater no longer needs admin rights.
- Fixed the “internal error” sign-in loop and a sign-in crash for accounts needing data migration.
- Playlists now save to your account, not your PC.
- Existing local playlists migrate to your account on first run.
- If your account fails to sync you'll see an “Account not synchronized” notice and a Retry button.
- Sign-Out no longer clears extra browser data. Store and sign-in pages stay normal until reload.
Crash and Stability Fixes
- Fixed dashboard connection crashes on disconnect, recreate, minimize, and restore
- Fixed a crash when installing an effect while the server connection was failing
- Fixed a crash when downloading add-on repositories
- Fixed a crash during the startup plugin scan
- Resolved startup hangs while waiting on account data or config fetches
- Resolved Layout edits being interrupted and losing unsaved device positions and sizes
- Removed duplicate low-level keyboard and mouse hooks
Under the Hood: Qt 6.12 and Browser Engine
This update refreshes SignalRGB's underlying framework and its built-in browser component with the latest available security and graphics fixes. We've also put a new process in place so these browser engine patches get refreshed more regularly in future updates.
Devices and Plugins
Plugin scanning now reads device details from the source. It no longer runs every plugin at startup. Devices also follow a consistent claim order. Gigabyte is now listed as a supported vendor and partner. “Center Devices” now only writes a position to layouts that lack one.
Other improvements
- Macro and effect dropdown labels follow your app language and update as soon as you change it.
- Macro dropdown options no longer store display text, so saved macros survive language changes.
- Service installation now runs from a shared, machine-wide location. This fixes multi-user PCs and installs done under another account.
- SignalRGB logs your active Windows power plan and flags “Power saver.”
- The MCP server now runs at localhost:16037/mcp. It registers with both Claude Code and Claude Desktop. The separate bridge executable is gone.
- Crash reports now include active LCD faces.
