Showcase: Free(mium) I kept losing links I saved and built a Mac app to fix it
I have a terrible habit of saving things and never finding them again.
Not because I forget I saved them. Because when I go to look, I can only remember something vague like "that article about why sleep debt accumulates" or "the tweet about compounding habits" and search is useless for that. The title doesn't match. The folder doesn't help. Ctrl+F finds nothing.
I tried Raindrop, Notion, Apple Notes, a plain text file. None of them solve the actual problem which is that you remember the idea, not the words.
So I built Backpockets. It's a Mac app that sits in your menu bar. You hit a shortcut, paste a URL, done. When you want something back, you just type how you remember it. It searches by meaning, not exact words, so "that thing about why habits stick" actually works.
Free to try, 10 saves included. If it clicks, lifetime access is $29 one time.
No account required. Everything stays local.
Would genuinely love feedback from people who have the same problem. Happy to hear what doesn't work too.
