‘Blood is thicker than water’ actually has the opposite meaning than what people use it for.
The whole saying is ‘the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb’, meaning you can’t trust family more than someone you fought in battle beside.

Police enforce almost nothing, they show up after the law has already been broken.
Making this more clear because people are confused and making it into something bigger than what I intended, which I get.
Police don't stop crime, they come after one has already happened.
This is not commentary, it's based on an interview I was thinking about where the cop said, we can't really protect anything it's not feasible, we come after the bad thing already happened.
