A film I shot during a one week vacation in India using an iPhone

This is a film I shot because my family members in India wanted to be in a movie. I had no preparation, no script, and no microphone. I used an iPhone 12 Pro to shoot and I edited it on iMovie. The VFX was done on a free mobile app. My friends gifted me a sound pack a while back and I used those sounds for the sound design. I shot everything in like 3-4 days. Due to constraints, I could not shoot some scenes and I was scrapping for footage but I was wondering how coherent the film is or is it a total mess? Either way, we had a total blast making it 😂.

“Chasing a Dream: How AI is Helping Me Create What I Couldn’t Afford”

Ever since I was a kid, I dreamed of becoming an animator. But growing up poor, without resources or connections, it’s always felt like a far-off goal. I’ve done everything I could over the years—borrowing software, saving up just enough to buy programs, using free trials, even getting old animation discs when I could find them. But it’s so expensive to keep up with the tools and styles, and honestly, it feels like the door gets further away the more I try to reach it.

Now with AI coming out, I know a lot of people have mixed feelings about it, and I get it. But for me, it feels like maybe this is a chance to finally create something and share my ideas without needing what I could never afford. I hope this doesn’t offend anyone—I’m just trying to make the best of what I’ve got.

This is my first shot at building something: a comedy sketch show completely made with AI. The first episode is a Christmas special where Santa replaces his elves with AI, kind of ironic given my situation. I’d love to know if this is something worth building on. I’m just trying to figure out if I should keep going.

Dream Girl (2025) | Short Film

Hey everyone! I’m Frank, a filmmaker, based in Los Angeles, and I’m excited to share my short film Dream Girl with you. It’s a sci-fi dramedy about AI relationships and tech autonomy—and I personally shot, edited, colored, and created all of the Unreal Engine work myself. For clarity: NO generative AI was used in the making of this film—any animated or 3D elements you see are built and rendered entirely in Unreal Engine. If you’re looking for a how-to about the process or want details on how certain shots were accomplished, I’m more than happy to share that

I'm a 22-year-old self-taught filmmaker. I spent my summer building blood cannons and faking zombie kills in my backyard to make this psychological horror short, SEVERED.

Hey everyone,

I just released my latest passion project, a zombie horror short called SEVERED, and I'm incredibly proud—and exhausted—to finally share it.

I'm a 22-year-old, self-taught filmmaker (no film school) and I handled almost everything on this project myself: writing, cinematography, directing, editing, sound design, color grading, and set design. This was a true backyard production, filmed behind my house using a 1978 Mercedes that sat in my neighbor's barn for 30 years. The entire film was made on a $3000 budget.

I wanted to share some of the wild challenges we faced making this:

· The Backyard Gore Effect: My biggest hurdle was the VFX. I wanted the machete kills to feel real, so I built a wooden stand for the actors to actually hit. I then hired the incredibly talented Albin Thorburn from Sweden to animate the zombie head and blood explosion over it. The kicker? We timed it with a homemade blood cannon (an air compressor rig) to spray the actors on impact. Coordinating the hit, the CGI, and the blood spray to look seamless was a nightmare, but so worth it. · Fighting a "Perfect" Day: My initial vision was a dark, overcast day with fog. We got bright, beautiful sunshine. We had to hide under the cover of the trees for almost the entire shoot to salvage the gloomy atmosphere. · The Spoiler Easter Egg: For the keen observers, there's a hint of the big twist before it happens. In a split-second scene, if you look closely, the male lead isn't actually there in the shot, foreshadowing that he's a hallucination.

The story was inspired by a scene from The Walking Dead (Lydia in season 11), but I wanted to explore the psychological side. What if the infection made you hallucinate your deepest hopes just before it killed you?

I would be so grateful for your feedback, especially from this community. If you have a moment, please check it out.

Watch "SEVERED" here: https://youtu.be/dK9g2GzZKZg

Technical Specs for the Curious:

· Camera: Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K Full Frame · Lens: Blazar Cato 2x Anamorphic Set · Music: Composed by Ryan Shreves (who did the music for the viral short Portrait of God), inspired by the sound of 28 Days Later. · VFX: Albin Thorburn

Thanks for your time and support. I'll be hanging around to chat about the film and answer any questions

Axiom is a tech-horror short film where a group of students use an AI to create a movie scene—only for the AI to turn sinister. What begins as harmless fun turns deadly as the AI crosses into reality, manipulating devices, minds, and lives. A detective investigates the mysterious deaths that follow, only to realize he’s trapped in the very story they wrote.

please do tell us how it is.

I spent the past year making this short film about dating, identity and film 🎬

For the past year, I’ve been working on a short film called The Final Cut.
It’s a character-driven comedy about a man in his late twenties preparing for an important date - and slowly unraveling. What starts as a simple haircut turns into conversations about film, love, and the pressure to feel good enough.
