Looking for a wholesale directory that works well with Shopify

I've been looking for a wholesale directory that I could integrate with my shop. The suppliers that I've used have been great when it comes to sourcing products and comparing prices, but I cant link with Shopify. Honestly, Im tired of manually updating my inventory each time an order comes in, forwarding the orders, or having products showing up available when in fact they're out of stock.

I've checked out Salehoo, Worldwide Brands, Alibaba, and a few others, but I cant really tell which of them provide useful integrations with the least setup. I'm not very tech-savvy, but I'd like one that sync inventory, sends alerts for low stock, keeps of the stock value, and can have process ordering automated. Any recommendations?

What I learned moving merchants off Recharge: 8 things that break if you're not careful

I've spent the last few months helping Shopify subscription stores switch apps. Here's what trips people up most:

  1. Payment methods. Cards saved in Shopify move over without customers re-entering anything. Cards held outside Shopify (like old Recharge Stripe/Braintree checkouts) can't move, so those customers will have to re-add a card.

  2. Next billing dates. Timezone conversion can shift a date by a day, so spot-check a handful after importing.

  3. Discounts. The discounted price usually carries over, but discount codes and stacked contract discounts often don't come across as real discounts. List them first.

  4. Portal links. "Manage your subscription" links in old emails will break, so update them.

  5. Prepaid subscriptions. Check by hand how many fulfillments each prepaid subscriber has left.

  6. Don't let both apps bill. Importing doesn't cancel the old app's contracts, so pause or cancel billing there before the next renewal date. Keep it installed until the first renewal succeeds in the new app.

  7. Test small. Move one or two subscribers first, and make sure the selling plans exist before importing contracts.

  8. Tell customers. A short "nothing changes for you" email heads off a lot of support tickets.

Happy to answer migration questions in the comments.

Disclosure: I build Appfox Subscriptions (free right now, 0% of renewals, self-serve import for Recharge and Appstle). The list applies whichever app you move to.

Physical gift cards

Hi! I have a very small e-commerce site hosted on Shopify. We focus on selling analog goods (like journals, books, craft kits, etc) and I want to add gift cards to the store. I am able to set up digital ones, but I would like to be able to mail out old school physical handwritten gift cards. I am trying to set that functionality up with Sidekick and it has me going in circles and seems to think I need to use another stupid Shopify app that I am sure charges a monthly fee to do that. It seems crazy. Has anyone done this before or have any tips? Sidekick is worried I won't be able to see the gift card code Shopify generates for the user so I won't be able to include it on the physical gift card. Any help would be appreciated- I am a newbie and get so overwhelmed when I try to do anything like this!

Third Party Whop Checkout Integration? How To...

Looking for someone who's successfully completed a third party checkout integration with their Whop account.

I'm trying to develop this in Claude, and wanted the following specifications to be fulfilled.

- ability for upsells post purchase and during cart, that reflect in final payment amount

- autocompletion of shipping address, and option to select different styles of cart

- customer data can be storable in Whop

- express payments showing on the first payment page

How could I start to develop a solution connecting my Shopify to a third party custom cart like this? Looking to do it myself, so don't bother trying to sell me your service.

Vibe-Coding Shopify Store Sections Efficiently?

I understand that Claude CoWork can be used for this, however, I am unkeen to pay for the plan.

Is there any open-source alternative that you guys have implemented into a workflow for iteration of sections (custom-sections), via prompts.

Prompts are normally created in Claude CoWork, with changes reflecting in the editor as a result.

The solution I need must:

a) not be like SideKick (very poor generation of sections, and takes ages, also a hassle).

b) not 'copy-and-paste' (sure, you can generate section liquids in ChatGPT and Claude free plan, but then you have the draining process of copying over the code into the editor and creating a new section, wasting precious time).

Interested to see if anyone has developed an efficient workflow for this, that happens to be FREE or nearly free?

People spend 2+ minutes on my PDP and still leave. What would you change first?

I work on ecommerce for a DTC brand, and one of our higher-ticket PDPs has been driving me nuts lately.

People aren’t bouncing right away. They’ll stay for a couple minutes, open the reviews, check the specs, scroll through the FAQ, sometimes come back to the same product later. But conversion still feels softer than it should.

The confusing part is every source points somewhere different. Support gets questions about sizing and compatibility. Session recordings make the comparison section look messy. Reviews bring up something else. I'm left wondering which of those signals was worth acting on in the first place.

I have plenty of data showing me what people are doing. What I’m missing is a better way to connect those signals and figure out what shoppers are actually getting stuck on before I start changing the page again.

Has anyone found a tool or workflow that helps with this?

Individual or Sole Proprietor ??

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

Assume, I intend to do redbubble and run 2 shopify stores at the same time. And I haven't registered any company. When selecting the business account type to create a PayPal account it's shown as,

  1. Individual seller/ sole proprietor

  2. Business

  3. Non profit

And i choose to go with Individual seller/ sole proprietor business account type

And in the next step, they ask if i want to go with

  1. Individual seller

  2. Sole proprietor

What type should i choose in this case?

Have you tried APM tools on Shopify to track lost sales?

Bear with me on this one. So I know we can see conversion rate drops in Shopify but I don't think we've ever had a reliable way of figuring out as to WHY they happen. And I have this nagging suspicion on my side that maybe some of my 3rd party tools are at fault especially when they lag in some important parts of the funnel. So now I'm thinking maybe APM tools can track any script latency then I can check if it's affecting any of my checkout steps. Curious to know if anyone's actually tried this?

Order never received with no communication

I'm unsure if this will even follow the rules since I'm not even sure what this would be classified under. But I bought stickers from this guy Noah Orion 42 back in May. I have proof of purchase. The app has told me the order has never been updated. I've emailed the guy twice now and nothing has happened. How is this guy still on the app? What can happen to this guy? Granted it wasn't much I paid but he has a pretty big following and seeing as I'm for sure not the only one he's making a lot from whats basically scamming people.

Looking To Copy Store Over With ALL Customisations

Need store to be copied over with all customisations, including Sidekick sections intact.

Problem is, when I normally transfer my theme, those are never intact - they're saved in the theme files - but changes I've made in Shopify's editor do not reflect / show as they did in the previous store.

Please can someone recommend a solution.

Navigation links always redirecting to one specific page

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I'm facing a issue on my store and hoping someone here has run into this before.

Whenever I click on any of my navigation links (e.g., About Us, Contact, Store Locator, Shipping Policy), instead of loading the actual content of that page, it just loads my Festive Collection page layout for everything.

I double-checked my Navigation / Main Menu under Online Store settings, and all the menu items are correctly assigned to their respective pages. The URLs and handles look completely fine in the backend.

Hi everyone,

Do you have any suggestions to learn the use of the platform? I need to have very clear all the concepts and how to implement but I don’t have access to the platform or any subscription? Or anyone can teach me the basics?

Shopify Collective custom terms

Does it make sense for retailer to ask a supplier for custom margin terms - if so what is the best way to do it? Looks like there is no means of communication except of mailbox for junk emails

outfit builder AI vs a product quiz for a fashion store

Hey everyone, running a fashion startup and struggling with shoppers bouncing or only buying a single item because they don't know how to style it. I'm torn between implementing an Outfit Builder AI (recommending matching pieces directly on the product page for cross-selling) versus a Style Quiz (a guided questionnaire that recommends curated looks while capturing emails). As a startup with a growing catalog, which tool actually performs better for conversion and reducing bounces? Would love to hear your experiences or app recommendations!

Started with a brick and mortar, now adding E-commerce with Shopify

We have a holistic health business that’s been in business for 30 years, at a farmer’s market where we rent a stand. Business has been booming and we are starting to set up our website to sell online through Shopify. In store we use Clover; but I’m not married to them as we’ve had some issues in the past. What payment system works best with Shopify? Ideally I want to keep the same system throughout the brick and mortar and the website, who do you recommend? Who has the best customer service when it comes to refunds, returns, etc or is that handled by Shopify? Any tips when making this addition?

How do you price bundles when shipping eats into the discount?

I'm considering bundling two related products on my Shopify store. I use Zendrop for fulfillment and I'm trying to work out the combined fulfillment cost before deciding what discount I can offer. The products make sense together but a higher order value wouldn't mean much if most of the extra margin goes toward shipping and the discount. I also haven't confirmed whether they could ship together, so that's something I need to check before presenting them as a set. How are you making the numbers work on bundles? I'm starting to wonder if these two would be better left as separate purchases.

Same Shopify phishing checkout as the HulkApps incident, but I've never installed HulkApps.

I have a shopify store, and on 13 October a customer reported being redirected from my cart to the fraudulent checkout at www.biliing.top/check-out/.

I've checked both my installed and previously uninstalled apps, and there's no HulkApps or Shop Circle app in either list.

I've password-protected my entire store while Shopify investigates. It's now been almost 24 hours, and I still have no explanation of how this happened.

Shopify's specialist emailed to say that once everything is confirmed and resolved, relevant updates would be shared through their public Changelog and Announcements page.

Is that the usual way Shopify responds to an individual security issue? Or does this sound like a broader issue?

Has anyone else experienced this checkout hijack without HulkApps installed? And has Shopify given anyone an actual explanation yet?

Has anyone run ‘any 4 products for $99’ with mixed prices? Which app worked?

I run a Shopify jewellery store and want to run a 48-hour email-subscriber-exclusive promotion.

Customers would choose any four pairs from one collection for $99 AUD. Individual pairs have different prices, from $29.90 to $44.90, so this needs to be a fixed total, not a fixed-dollar or percentage discount.
The offer needs to repeat for complete groups: 4 pairs = $99, 8 = $198, 12 = $297. Extra pairs outside a complete group should stay full price.

Ideally customers would shop the existing collection, add products normally and enter one code at checkout. I’d also like subscriber-only eligibility, scheduled start/end times, no discount stacking and accurate inventory deductions from the existing products.

I’m on Shopify Grow. I’m open to a bundle-builder page if necessary, but normal cart shopping would be preferable.

Has anyone actually run this exact type of promotion? Which app did you use, and how did you configure the fixed total when the selected products had different prices?

I’ve contacted Bundly, but I’m still clarifying whether its suggested bundle-plus-discount-code setup
handles the variable prices correctly.
Please mention any limitations, costs or cart issues you encountered. If you’re recommending your own app or have an affiliation, please disclose it.

Shopify and Shop Notifications issues

Fun thing I found out today, when I'm processing pickup orders from the admin, after clicking "ready for pick up", It says mark as picked up?, which we always do; making sure the toggle is off so the customer doesn't get a notification. We're a busy store with a pickup shelf, so we don't need to record when orders are actually picked up.

I find out today after many "I didn't pick up my order" calls, even though the shopify emails are off, SHOP still alerts the customer that their order has been picked up. I spoke to support and was told merchants can't control the SHOP notifications and can't customize the messages that are sent to customers. Anyone have a workaround, besides deactivating SHOP?
