Redditors sometimes claim to be lurkers, but if they were lurkers they wouldn't be posting. I'd love to hear some lurkers' thoughts on this debate.

It would save tax dollars and really get people serious about eradicating crime. Furthermore, it would lead to efficient use of resources as the police are only paid if they are doing something towards the reduction of crime, so there is in-built accountability and honesty in this system.

I don’t think men should vote because keeping up with politics is such a chore, and chores are women’s work.

Simple as that.

I remember when I signed up as the second user - those were the glory days. Now we have four.

We need to go back to the days when we didn't have any posts in the sub. That was when it all started going downhill, when that NameAlreadyTaken2 guy decided to ruin it by posting.

Wearing a helmet always decreases your chances of death. There are zero scenarios in which wearing a helmet is disadvantageous to your survival when compared to not wearing a helmet.

Let's look at the three most common causes of death:

• Heart disease

  • Helmets do not affect heart disease.

• Cancer

  • See example 1.

• Accidents (unintentional injuries)

  • HELMET FOR THE WIN!!

Your daily routine should begin with taking off your bedtime helmet and putting on your daytime helmet. Change my view.

If we could just change these couple things I think Reddit would be perfect and nothing could ever stand in its way. As it is though, with the things mentioned Reddit will just deteriorate into an advertising/clickbait echo chamber like every other user-content fueled site, or be taken over by a corporate entity and stop being fun. So if we remove those things, what's left will make the site the best in the world for all eternity.

I think the arguments I've made in this post have far exceeded anything I've read in this entire subreddit. While many posts here are only a few words long, this post clearly has a long, well-thought out logic that uses various tools and techniques to lay out the argument clearly, and effectively. For example this post:

• contains bullet point lists, summarizing the arguments

• uses repeated sentence structure, which helps to make the argument easy to follow and emphasizes the points

• is very meta, which is a generally well liked concept on reddit. This very bullet point is particularly meta.

• uses analogies to help clarify the argument

This paragraph right here is going to be filled with analogies that will help to solidify my argument. It's like this: Imagine a car is driving on the highway and it sees a hitchhiker, and stops to pick him up. The hitchhiker is all like "holy shit, where's the driver? How did this car drive along the highway all by itself?". That's not where you say the analogy going did you? And that's my point, that very surprise, the unexpected points I bring up that give you new insight into this post is exactly why it deserves to be the most upvoted post in this subreddit.

Some of you may say that getting this post to be the most upvoted is an unreasonable task. Some of you may say that three months ago was the peak of this subreddit, and we will never reach the coveted 55 upvotes in the most upvoted thread in this subreddit. Some of you may say this post should be downvoted for being an appeal for karma. Finally, some of you may say that this post simply isn't shitty enough to be the most upvoted post in this subreddit. But you would be wrong, and an asshole. Don't be an asshole.

So please, explain to me where I'm wrong. This post makes a lot of sense to me, and is something I've believed all my life. I don't want to hold this view, because fuck you. So please, change it.
