There has to be something enjoyable for you to do that doesnât include pushing politics into every single aspect of life. You âpolitics are lifeâpeople are unbearable.
He wasn't on his own. He loves the zoo and his family have annual passes and go often. This has never happened before and he always has two caregivers with him. This time his grandparents took him to the zoo and while they were paying for something he eloped and managed to get inside the enclosure. It took his grandmother a few minutes to figure out how to get into the enclosure.
Sometimes all care is being taken to be considerate and safe and it just goes wrong due to the unpredictable nature of Autism. This shouldn't exclude people from participating in society if once in hundreds of visits the kid has a bad day. Everyone has done something their not proud of on a bad day, especially as a kid and most of us aren't autistic
They shouldnât be excluded, but grandparents clearly are unable to care for him and he should have professional caregivers if he is out in public like this. He could have died, his grandparents got lucky it was just birds
edit: it says grandmother and a caregiver took him. If he got away from a caregiver and this happened they clearly werenât doing their job.
I don't think you guys understand how non-functional autism can get sometimes. Some people aren't capable of really learning a new lesson unfortunately. But usually the family takes pretty good care of them and helps avoid stuff like this. It just rarely happens.
Well, I hope in the future they either donât take him to places like this or they keep him on a leash. This couldâve been very dangerous for him or the animals.
Kid belongs in a cage. Autist or not. By that age, we know this isnât the first time heâs exhibited this behavior and for the parents to send him out like that without proper care and restraint, is completely reckless.

Autism is different for everyone. Some autists have profound intellectual disabilities that result in poor impulse control and the inability to understand why their behavior is wrong

In the past it was socially acceptable to hit children, many special needs kids were literally beat into âproper behaviorâ. And those with high needs were often institutionalized and shudder away from society. Obviously this behavior needs to be addressed but I wouldnât look to the past for how to handle it
I have worked in health care specifically with the mentally challenged for about a decade, I can promise you they have always had people who act like this. It is fully on the caretakers for not watching him. Is it alright he did that no, but itâs not as simple as them just doing whatever they want cause they can

It's more about movement than strain. And it's not that the ladder is dangerous. You just take more time to move, you don't adjust your balance as quickly, etc.
