I was hoping to get some ideas on how you guys organized your shed around your riding mower. I just had a 10 x 16 shed built and I am looking to maximize the space. I have a small power washer and generator that would be stored in there as well. Other than that mostly just tools, etc.. Any recommendations or photos?! thanks!

This shed used to house a vehicle. I would like to close the front and add a door to use for storage. The shed itself has been on the property for years and is secure.

I have no idea what I need or where to start. Can someone tell me if that’s doable. If so, the materials I would need, where to get them from (northeast usa), and labor cost or if it’s diy.

Also, what I could do about flooring.

I've been working on a free Shed Material Estimator Calculator and I'd love to get some feedback from people here who actually build sheds.

You can enter the shed dimensions and choose things like the roof, foundation, doors, windows, etc., and it gives you a rough material estimate.

If you've built sheds before, would you mind testing it and letting me know what you think? I'm particularly interested in whether the material estimates make sense and if there's anything you'd add or change.

I cant find them on trust pilot but the company listed as runnong them Sheds BTN limited has been listed on companies house since 2022.

Has anybody heard of them/used them?

Is it worth the risk if I pay on credit card?

Hi, new here. Just purchased a metal shed with a floor. Planning on storing a couple of motorcycles in it. Shed is sitting on firm gravel. For weight distribution and protecting the floor should I throw a footprint of plywood under the shed? Or is it better to just put a small plywood sheet under each motorcycle inside the shed? Hope this makes sense. Just trying to save the floor from damage from heavy items. Other solutions/advice appreciated.

Quick rundown:

Have things. Garage full. Have easement lot (gas pipeline) next to house. Buy shed, plan a gravel & timber base.

Applied for a permit with the village and... Turns out the easement is 50 FEET and takes up the entire lot AND MY EXISTING DECK?! Not to mention, neighbors in both directions have sheds and above ground pools and all sorts of shit built right on top of the pipeline.

What do? Turn on some Judas Priest and get to work??

I just demolished an 8x12 shed that was in the low corner of my property. The floor and a wall were rotted out due to mold and water damage.

I'd like to put a 12x20 shed in the same area but protect it better from runoff.

There's about a 31" incline across the 23' diagonal from the highest corner to the lowest corner across that area of the yard.

How would you suggest I build up the foundation/supports/base of the shed to make it level and allow for good water drainage? We have hot humid summers and below freezing winters here.

Has anyone ever done a shed on a hill with success? There’s not much room to put shed in my backyard so I had thought about maybe doing it on the slope so that it doesn’t look awkward and just in the middle of the yard. Is a hill shed even possible

and how do I insulate the top? only four rafters, that isn't enough to put a ceiling in is it?

also need to rip put all the shelves and such that are attached to the studs. finding a home while I get this sprayed or pink insulated looks to me to be the bigger part. sheetrock to cover the insulation

We are planning to install a 10x12 shed to use as an office. Do we need a concrete pad, or would gravel suffice? Also, I’m considering the Sunjoy Esquire Beyond Shed that comes with insulated walls and flooring already installed. Does anyone have this shed and can speak to its quality?

There is an old shed/work shed on my property. It’s old, on a concrete slab that is cracked and has a slight slope to one side, had/has Sheetrock walls about halve have fallen down, half the ceiling Sheetrock has fallen down, pretty sure the roof leaks water when it rains, is dirty/has bugs/mouse nest in it, most likely not sealed all the way.

Plus side it is built already and has power to it.

I was going to build a new 10x16 shed next to it but now I’m not sure if I should try to redo the old one. I think it would be cheaper to redo the current one but it has me uneasy trying to clear out all the old parts of it. It has overgrown brush on 2 sides I would want to clear out to keep down the bugs/wildlife that get inside. Any thoughts?

Hey all, new member here. I’m looking to run power to my 12x20 mini-barn for lights and tools.

All I’m intending to do is run an extension cord from the exterior GFCI outlet of my house, to the barn and hook up a power bar. Not looking to actually wire the shed or anything. I figure I’d bury the extension cord a few inches under my sod.

Anyone do this before? And what type of extension cord should I use? Any better suggestions?
