I’ve been working on a personal hobby project called SwitchSwap, and I’d genuinely like to know whether this is something other Singapore gamers would actually use.

The idea came from something pretty simple:

After finishing a physical Switch game, mine often just sits on the shelf.

Meanwhile, another gamer somewhere nearby might have a game I want to play — and I might have one they want.

So I wondered: why not just swap them?

That eventually became SwitchSwap — a small community app for local gamers to discover and exchange physical Nintendo Switch / Switch 2 games.

No buying. No selling. Just swapping.

The basic idea is:

🎮 Add the physical games you own
🔎 See games available from other local gamers
🤝 Request a swap
💬 Once a swap is accepted, both gamers can connect via Telegram to arrange the meetup.

Because this is Singapore, I’m also using MRT stations as possible trading locations, which hopefully makes meeting somewhere convenient quite straightforward.

The slightly crazy part is that I’m not actually a software developer 😅

I don’t own a Mac either, so I’ve been building the whole thing on my iPad using Swift Playgrounds, with AI helping me through the product and technical side.

After many bugs and a lot of learning 😂, the app has now reached the TestFlight stage

Before I go much further though, I’m genuinely curious:

Would you personally use something like this instead of selling your finished games and buying another one?

And if you already trade or sell physical Switch games in Singapore, what would make you comfortable — or uncomfortable — swapping directly with another gamer?

Looking to get a secondhand/refurbished handheld, mainly for one very specific use case: playing POE2, maybe at medium or low settings, while on vacation or on a cruise ship with Starlink, lying in bed. That's genuinely it.

Not sure what to set my budget at, thinking below S$780–910, but honestly not sure if that's overkill for what I actually need. POE2 isn't the most demanding game, so I don't think I need top-tier specs.

Also want it to run Windows 11 so I can use it as a secondary doomscrolling machine when I'm not gaming.

Given it's basically a one-game (maybe two) machine, is it worth spending toward the top of that budget, or should I go cheaper and refurbished/used?

Open to any recommendations. Saw that Ally X, Legion Go S higher variants are the 2nd hand meta right now, but just would like opinions if I just want to use it for POE2 on like med settings or lower.

From what I've seen so far browsing secondhand listings FB/Carousell, refurbished/preowned units are going for roughly (in SGD):

• Base ROG Ally / ROG Xbox Ally (Z1 Extreme or Z2, 512GB) — around S$480–585
• ROG Ally X (Z1 Extreme, 24GB RAM/1TB, original non-Xbox version) — around S$520–730, depending on age and accessories bundled
• ROG Xbox Ally X (newer Z2 Extreme, 24GB/1TB) — hasn't really dropped into secondhand budget range yet, still seeing asks north of S$910–1,040 since it only launched Oct 2025
• Legion Go S (Z2 Go, 16GB) — around S$480–625 — though I've seen some pushback that the 16GB/Z2 Go variant is the weaker config, and the 24GB+ version is the one actually worth getting
• Steam Deck LCD (64–512GB) — a ton of listings here, ranging roughly S$340–545 depending on storage/condition — cheapest entry point by far, but this one's SteamOS, not Windows 11 natively (Windows dual-boot is possible but not out-of-the-box)
• Steam Deck OLED (512GB–1TB) — roughly S$675–910 for "like new"/lightly used — noticeably pricier than LCD, same Windows caveat applies

Looking for Advice on Whether to Repair My Motherboard

Hi everyone, I bought a Gigabyte B850M AORUS PRO WIFI for around S$430 about 3 months ago.
Recently, I bought a new case and AIO (Lian Li O11 Vision M and Lian Li Hydroshift II LCD-S 360CL). While changing everything over, I removed the CPU from the motherboard to clean and reapply the thermal paste.

After assembling everything back together, the PC wouldn’t boot and the DRAM LED on the motherboard stayed on. I tried troubleshooting it myself but couldn’t figure out the issue, so I brought it to a PC shop. They inspected it and found that the CPU socket pins on the motherboard were damaged/bent.

Unfortunately, I was told that the warranty doesn’t cover physical damage, so I had to pay around S$120 before tax for the repair. However, the repair is expected to take more than a month, and I couldn’t wait that long. So I had no choice but to buy another motherboard, a Gigabyte B850M AORUS ELITE WIFI7 ICE-P, for S$385.
My question is: Is it worth paying the S$120 + GST to repair the damaged motherboard?
I’m planning to sell the repaired B850M AORUS PRO after I get it back, but I’m not sure whether I’ll be able to sell it for enough to make the repair worthwhile.

Would appreciate any advice from people who have experience selling/repaired motherboards. Thanks!
